Joe mentally prepared himself for the long shopping trip ahead of him as he stepped into Target with Denise, pushing a large shopping cart with their two young boys, Josh and Mason, aged three and one respectively, sitting in it.

It wasn't any typical shopping trip, usually when the whole family was there, it would be the monthly stock up on their food and daily necessities, but that trip was completed the week before. This was for a completely different reason, it was for Brian and Meredith's baby shower. In addition to that, they were expecting a baby girl, and of course, Denise started going wild about shopping for girls' clothes since she only had two little boys. She dragged the whole family into Target for a shopping spree and Joe wasn't that impressed, but she promised him she would buy him the new video game he always wanted, and he reluctantly agreed.

Denise rushed to the discount section and basically swept almost all the cute dresses into the shopping cart, Josh was very engrossed with the toy he brought, so he wasn't too bothered with his mom's shopping craziness, but Mason's toy was forgotten at home, so he was getting fussy. Joe tried to play peekaboo and all sorts of games to keep him company, it worked for a little bit, but by the time Denise was looking at picture frames, he started squirming out of boredom.

"I know buddy," Joe gently ruffled Mason's fluffy brown hair, "Mommy is going crazy, isn't she?"

Denise sang out, still looking down at photo frames, "No I'm not."

"You're buying Brian and Meredith more baby clothes than you bought for Josh and Mason combined," he pointed out.

"That's bull," she replied, "Their wardrobes and cabinets are full of clothes."

Joe counted the number of clothes inside the cart and looked up, "There are twelve outfits in here."

"The boys definitely have more than twelve outfits each."

"I give up," he threw his arms in the air, knowing Denise was not going to stop until her subconscious had enough of this.

Denise turned to Josh, "Josh, honey, do you want to choose a present for baby Brielle?"

Joe sighed, "You're dragging him into this?"

"So what if I am?" she replied as Josh nodded enthusiastically. She lifted him out of the shopping cart and he ran towards the superhero section, which was his favorite section of Target. And he picked up the Superman shirt.

"You think baby Brielle would like Superman?" Denise asked and Josh replied affirmatively, "Uncle Bri was Superman."

She replied, "What about a Supergirl outfit? I don't think Uncle Bri would like to battle for the title of the real Superman."

Josh shrugged, "Okay."

Denise grinned at the opportunity to get another cute dress and grabbed the outfit, dropping it into the cart. Mason was getting more and more bored so Joe lifted him out of the shopping cart and started bouncing him, "I get you buddy, it's boring, I know."

"You're calming him really well," she gave her husband an encouraging smile.

Joe returned the smile, "I think he's a little bit tired."

"I think we have everything for the baby shower now," Denise declared, "I'll grab you that video game and then we can go."

"Yes! Thank you Deeds," he sighed in relief.

"Then we can get dinner at Olive Garden, and we go home, sound good?" she proposed.

Joe nodded in agreement, "Sound good."

Both the kids were passed out at the backseat during the almost silent drive back home, Denise and Joe enjoyed the peace in the car, no music, no movies, just a truckload of baby clothes in the backseat.

"Thanks for agreeing to come out with me," Denise spoke up, breaking the silence.

Joe replied, "You would've dragged us out anyway."

"I guess I did go a little overboard..."

"Ya think?" he chuckled, and she laughed along.

"I guess I just wanted a baby girl so badly that I got so excited when I found out Brian and Meredith were having-" she tried to explain.

He cut her off, "You don't owe me an explanation, and to be honest, I do kind of want a girl as well."

"We can always try in a couple years, when the boys are old enough and when we can stably afford another kid."

"Sounds good."

Denise looked at him, "You serious?"

"I am," he smiled, making a turn for the street where they lived on, "Why not? It'd be fun to have another kid, when the boys are old enough, I mean."

"Thank you."

"For?"

Denise chuckled, "Should I make a list? Let's see, for marrying me, giving me my children, loving me... That's just a couple of major things, and I couldn't be happier that I agreed to be in Starship way back then."

"And I couldn't be happier that my eyes landed on a beautiful blonde haired girl who stole my heart," he smiled lovingly at her as he pulled up on the driveway, "I love you Denise."

She replied, unbuckling her seatbelt, "I love you too Joe."

Is anyone up for some Jarren (Darren and Julia, I mean) oneshots? I have an idea in mind (thanks to one of my internet besties, @im_gryffindor) and would anyone read that if I wrote it? Just a thought, thanks for staying tuned!
