I quickly walked out of the classroom and headed to the library for my free period. I felt myself be engulfed in the quiet whispers of promising tales of the books. I examined a few books that "spoke" to me and brought them to the check-out counter.

A plump old lady walked over to me, giving me a smile that reminded me of my grandmother-kind and caring. I smelled something sweet in the air and smiled to myself when I realized it was chocolate chip cookies. I knew right away that this was the place where I belonged.

"Good morning, Miss." The old woman said. I gave her my most genuine smile and answered her, my eyes twinkling. "Good morning." I waited for the woman to prepare my books for me to take. I noticed a name plate on her desk and read her name-Mrs. Quoten.

When Mrs. Quoten was finished, I gave her another smile in which she returned. I waved goodbye and walked out of the door with at least five books in hand. I've never felt more at home before.

As I walked out of the library, I ran into a hard chest. When I looked up it was the same boy that I saw in Language Arts. I felt a blush reach my cheeks and quickly looked down so that he wouldn't see it. "Sorry." I muttered as I walked away. I felt his eyes watch me and I turned my head to see him.

He flashed me a smile and I blushed even more as I walked off to my next hour. I took a seat in my history class and looked at the board, hoping that no one noticed me yet. Yet again, I spent my day up at the front of the classroom stating my name and some facts about myself.

When I was walking back to my locker after school, I ran into an open locker. I could even feel the imprint it left on my face. On a mission to get out of the locker zone, I ran to my locker and unlocked it. Flinging the door open, I heard an "Ooompf!" from behind me.

I looked down to see the boy from my Language Arts class again, this time with an imprint of a locker door on his face. I blushed and immediately fought it back. Helping him up, I got lost in his sparkling eyes. Realizing what was happening, I shook my head and looked away nervously. Sensing bad vibes coming from him. My brain was screaming one word and I felt a pull towards him. I found the courage to apologize to him. "Um....these darn lockers! Always trying to hit people! Ha ha. Sorry about that." I laughed nervously as I rubbed the back of my head.

The boy looked at me and smiled. He extended his hand and I shook it. "Liam." "Mayla, nice to meet you!" I answered. Liam smiled and let go of my hand. He walked off looking over his shoulder and almost ran into another locker. I giggled as he turned back around and disappeared around the corner.

He's so dreamy! I wonder if he has a girl-no! You only just met the guy! No way are you going to get a crush on him! The mission and your academics are to always be first, boys later, okay? Now, let's go home. I said scolding myself as I walked out of the school building.
