Days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months. Every hour that had passed passed with a merciless tick of a clock. The hospital wing was vacant except for four tired looking teenagers that waited for their friend to awaken. It had been four months since I had passed out. Four months since I went into a coma. Four months of being able to hear everything, but not be able to move, see, touch, taste, or speak. My body was still weak but not as weak as it had been before.
I could hear the groans and high pitched beep of the machines in my room. I could smell the putrid scent of cleaning supplies and medical equipment. I could almost see the white hospital room that held little to no excitement for those who visit and for those staying. I wanted to move so badly. No, I craved to move. I yearned for it with all of my being. It started with a twitch of my fingers, then my toes. Soon enough my legs moved to the left and my arms curled up to my head. I groaned in pain as I felt my joints pop from their stiff positions.
I moved my head from side to side and my eyes started to flutter open. When my vision cleared I saw a white hospital room filled with gifts. I craned my neck to see a table and tray next to my bed. A bottle of medication and a glass of water was placed there. I smiled to myself as I saw the pile of stuffed animals that Audrenia must have given to me. Boxes of chocolates were stacked next to the stuffed animals along with some cards that said "get well soon" on them.
I smile as I try to imagine Kalemia fretting over what chocolates to get me, Audrenia just picking out stuffed animals, and Jeff sticking his nose in the card section trying to find one that is just perfect but ending up getting more than one. I turn my head towards the door as I look to see who just came in. There stood the very person I dreaded to see...Liam.
