My hands shook as I racked my brain for answers. How could I explain to a child about the signs without telling her about me? The girl stood there looking into my hazel eyes, her face full of concern. "Ma'am are you okay?" She asked innocently.
I nodded my head yes and carefully guarded my face. I examined my hands and prayed that they would stop shaking. I looked up into the girl's light gray eyes ad held back a sigh. "I'm sorry I haven't seen them. Did . . . did they mention someone named Mayla before?" I asked in a serious tone.
If she knew the truth, she would probably freak out or worse, join forces with the Zodiac Signs. That was the last thing I needed at the time. I needed all of the help I could get, it was only a matter of time before the Zodiac Signs found me, and when they did, things were going to get messy.
"Yeah. She's my aunt, I believe she is around seventeen year old? I've never met her before-why?" I took a deep breath and looked her in the eyes. "What is your name?" "Audrenia." "Audrenia . . . how do I say this? Um . . . I know your father very well." I saw her head perk up with excitement. A few moments later that excitement was replaced with confusion. "How?" "Hi, my name is Mayla Rose. I am your aunt." I watched as her mouth dropped open and uncertainty tinted her eyes a dark grey.
"Mayla?" "Yes." "You said Mayla Rose right?" "Mhm." "You're my aunt?" "Surprise." I muttered. I watched as her excitement grew and she threw her arms around my neck. I hated physical contact, but I allowed it because she is my niece. "I have one question." "What is it?" "My father said something about the zodiac signs. Are you the Virgo?" Panic coursed through me as I searched for an answer to give. "Yes." "He told m to find you. I'm Pisces. What is a Pisces anyway?"
"A Pisces is a zodiac sign, anyone born in the months of February and March as known as Pisceans. They have the ability to control the element of water." I answered looking her in the eye. I saw her smile slightly, which made me feel happy inside.
