In the Eye of the Virgo

Chapter 33

            "Make me deaf why don't you." Liam said as he rubbed his ears painfully. "What are you doing here?" I asked as I tried to mask the shakiness in my voice. "Seeing Santa Claus, what do you think?" He said sarcastically. I glared at him as I tried to get up out of my bed. "Hey, easy there! You were just in a coma a few minutes ago! What's the rush?" He questioned as I glared at him some more. 

         "Just trying to get away from you, that's all." I retorted as I threw off the blankets and swung my legs to the side of the bed. I growled at Liam as put his hands on my side, trying to stop me from getting up. "Let go of me." I growled out as I glared at him, trying to pry his hands off of my side. "No." He replied as he clutched my waist tighter. "Liam, so help me you haven't felt pain until I've inflicted it on you." I growled out. "Is that a promise, or a tall tale?" He responded as I gritted my teeth. 

         "Let go of me." "No." "Let me go!" "No." "Liam! Let me go!" I screeched as the ground beneath me began to rumble. "Again, no." The earth shook some more as my anger radiated off of my body. The ground beneath us began to crack and the room started to shake. I saw something flicker in Liam's eyes as he looked into mine. Was he starting to feel apprehensive? I tried to rein in my anger as it was getting too out of control.

         My eyes widened as I realized that my powers weren't working. "What's happening? Why can't I control it?" I panicked as I tried to stop the earthquake I had created. My eyes widen more in realization. How could I not have thought of that? Of course they're not going to work! My body is too weak to control my power, especially when it has the most powerful domain; earth. 

          I felt Liam grab onto my wrist as I began to panic. I looked into his eyes as he looked into mine. Soon enough, I felt something burn on my skin, looking down I saw him placing his mark on me. I scream as I tried to rip my wrist away from his burning hand, it was no use, he was too strong. A light cascaded down upon us. I felt Liam grab my other wrist as our feet lifted off of the floor. I screamed as Liam's power was pushed onto my skin, a red gem appearing in the air and flying towards my wrist. I tried to twist away from the gem, but it already began to dig its way into my wrist. 

        "Mayla...." Liam said in a warning tone as it was my turn to place my gem inside of his wrist. "Why are you doing this?" I choked out as I looked into his eyes. "Why are forcing me to do this? We aren't even mates!" I asked as I stalled. "Mayla, I think you know why. I thought it was evident when I was the only one who could wake you." Liam replied as The light around us turned from a blazing red to a soft green. I looked around us as I tried to calm myself down. 

       "No...." I whispered as everything that I was trying to piece together fall into place. My emotions got the best of me and my powers spiraled out of control and my green gem flew out from my left wrist and placed itself in Liam's right. My eyes widened as the light around us turned to white and a flash of power sounded through the room like a clap of thunder....
