Hoseok didn't talk much while they took a cab home. He just held tight onto the box that was on his lap. Hyungwon understood and didn't even try to say anything.
He paid the cab and took all the stuff Hoseok couldn't carry. Hoseok walked to the door first and waited for Hyungwon to come and open it. He seemed pitiful.
"Just put your stuff in the living room and we will deal with them later", Hyungwon said and Hoseok sat on the couch with the box he was still holding. "This is not a big deal. Just crash here while looking for an apartment", Hyungwon tried to be as supportive as he could.
"Thanks Hyungwon", Hoseok muttered and finally put down the box. "And I'm sorry I have to bother you like this", he sounded apologetic.
"It's not a bother", Hyungwon assured - it actually was a little.
"I can cook or something so I won't be living like a parasite."
"Oh, no", he surely did not want that. "It's okay."
Hoseok just smiled and Hyungwon looked away because it was uncomfortable.
"I'll go to sleep then", he said and walked upstairs to his room. Hoseok replied that he will come in a minute.
Instead of a minute, Hoseok sat there for more than five.
His head was filled with thoughts of what kind of failure he had became lately. He had forgotten about the one person he had been supposed to protect. Now he lost the thing he had been working for so hard that he forgot about Hyungwon, his home.
Hoseok owed his life to Hyungwon. No matter how bad Hoseok had screwed up, Hyungwon still offered him a second chance. Now Hoseok is homeless and mostly jobless - he had gotten fired from two places during the last days - and Hyungwon took care of him.
After his self-loathing had ended, he went to upstairs where Hyungwon was already sleeping and laid on the mattress on the floor where he slept at by himself.
--
The next morning when they were eating the breakfast Hyungwon had made, Hoseok was back to himself again after his sudden depression last night.
"What should we do today?" he was excited as always, already trying to make plans for today and smiling like a little kid - really usual thing.
"I don't know", Hyungwon continued eating. "Don't you have work today either?"
Hoseok suddenly got quiet and thought for a second. He had already almost forgotten about the few meetings he had arranged last night. "Right", he took out his phone to see the messages he had sent to remember what he had planned. "I'll be home at six and we will be going to a picnic."
"P-picnic?" Hyungwon got flustered. He had never done something like that before and it sounded weird in his mind.
"Yes. Prepare some food", Hoseok stood up and carried his dishes to the sink that was already full with plates and cup from what they had eaten in the past days. There wasn't always enough time to do the dishes because due to Hoseok's excitement, they were always going somewhere.
"Alright", Hyungwon nodded, following Hoseok's moving around with his eyes.
"Do something fun while you wait for me", Hoseok started to leave the kitchen. "Love you!" he yelled before grabbing his jacket and going out of the house fast. He was in a hurry.
Hyungwon sighed and leaned back on his chair.
He glanced at the clock to see that it was almost eleven. He would have seven hours just for himself. It was Friday and one of the last days of freedom he had before he would go back to school on Monday. He had been allowed to stay home for a week after his incident but now he would have to go back.
