As I walk down the stairs, the chatter becomes clearer. The lights on the Christmas tree get brighter. The TV gets louder. The Riggs just love having parties for nearly every holiday.

There's a countdown in the top left hand corner of the TV screen with a little under an hour left. One hour left until 2017.

A smile makes its way on to my lips as I think back to everything 2016 bombarded me with.

Richonne became canon. I graduated from tenth grade. Moved to Georgia. I quit modeling, and started acting. Cameron and I broke up. Chandler and I started doing whatever it is we're doing. I started my junior year. I turned seventeen. We lost Abraham and Glenn. I found out Zoey is pregnant. Lily Marie Mills was born. Mom got cancer.

Almost too much to take in.

"Savanna!" Chandler calls, pulling me out of my daze.

I turn to see Chandler walk up with two kids around our age. A boy and a girl. The boy looks a little older. He's tall with dark skin and curly hair. The girl is about my height with pretty, long, brown hair that's darker at the top and lighter at the ends. Almost ombré. If I had to guess, I'd say she's Hispanic.

I smile and wave my hand briefly.

"This is my girlfriend, Savanna," Chandler says, motioning to me.

I roll my eyes and ignore what he just called me.

"Savanna, these are our neighbors. Isaiah and his sister, Mia."

I smile again.

Chandler and Isaiah walk outside. I think Grayson and Sam are out there, too.

"Hi," Mia says, shyly.

"I'm Savanna, but I guess you already know that," I stammer, feeling my face get warm.

"You live here? With your boyfriend?" Mia asks, curiously.

"Well we weren't 'dating' when I moved in. My mom and his mom are best friends," I explain. "I moved here for a job thing."

"PINK right?"

"Yeah but I quit because modeling just isn't my thing."

"But you're on The Walking Dead now which is fucking awesome!" Mia blurts.

Mia's outburst makes me laugh a little. "You watch The Walking Dead?"

"Who doesn't?!" She exclaims. "My boyfriend got me into it a couple summers ago."

"Relationship goals!" I giggle.

Mia laughs slightly. She seems really cool.

We talk for a while. I learn that Mia has two moms that adopted her when she was three. She's sixteen and her older brother is eighteen.

She used to go to a private school, but her family moved across town, so she's going to our school until they can sell their house.

Mia's boyfriend, Aj, lives downtown and goes to her old school.

"Five!... four!..." people start chanting in sync with the TV.

"Three!..." I feel someone slip their hand into mine.

"Two!..." I look up and see Chandler smiling at me.

"O-" just before I can say the word, Chandler grabs my face and plants a kiss on my lips.

"Happy New Year!"

I wait a second before pulling away.

"You're lame," I mumble, glaring at him.

Chandler wraps his arm around me and rubs my arm.

"Don't bottle it up," he whispers.

Immediately, I know he's talking about my mom. I shake my head.

"Everything's gonna be fine."

I feel a tap on my arm and I turn to see Mia. She smiles at me and waves.

"We're about to leave."

"It was nice to meet you," I say, pushing Chandler off of me.

"You too," she smiles.

We hug and I walk them to the door. A lot of people have already started to leave, so the house looks kind of awkward.

"I'm gonna go get ready for bed," I whisper as a yawn escapes my mouth.

"Me too." Chandler smirks.

I immediately take off running up the stairs to get to our bathroom first. I can hear Chandler close behind me. Unfortunately, he makes it first and slams the door in my face. I frown at the door and flip it off.

I finally get to use the restroom. Chandler takes fucking forever in there.

I sit on my bed, scrolling through Tumblr while I wait to get sleepy.

"Goodnight," Chandler calls from the hallway.

"Wait!" I shout.

Chandler's face appears in the door moments later.

Without thinking, I blurt, "do you wanna stay in here tonight?"

Chandler grins before he runs into my room and jumps on the bed.

"Settle down. I'm going to sleep," I giggle.

I pull the string on my lamp, causing the room to go black. I plug my phone in and turn on my side. Chandler wraps his arms around me, and before I can adjust, I'm out like a light.
