The first day back from Christmas break is always the hardest. No more sleeping till noon. No more drinking eggnog till you pass out. No more Christmas spirit. The only thing left is the nasty, cold weather.

Zoey got moved into my child guidance class. I'm not sure if that's a requirement considering her current situation, or just her trying to prepare herself. Either way, I think it's a good idea. She's about six months along if I remember right, but I honestly don't really care. She can do whatever she wants.

Isaiah and Mia started school with us today. Mia's a sophomore and she has a couple classes with Lizzy. They get along really well and I'm glad they get to hang out.

Chandler refuses to stop calling me his girlfriend, so I just decided to go along with it. I like Chandler. A lot. We aren't just friends and I'm happy about that, but it's not easy. I know that with publicity, comes hate. I knew that when I started modeling, but being Carl's love interest on the show makes things harder. Plus being Chandler's "girlfriend" in real life is a double whammy.

"You alright babe?" Chandler asks, rubbing my back.

"Yeah," I mumble, shaking my head to clear my daydreams. I lay my legs across Chandler's lap and prop my physics textbook on top of my thighs.

"What's the discriminant part of the quadratic formula?" Chandler thinks aloud.

"b squared minus 4ac," I mumble, staring blankly at my paper airplane worksheet.

"How did you know that?" Chandler asks amazed, as he scribbles something into his spiral notebook.

I shrug and continue working on my homework.

I blink my eyes slowly to keep from falling asleep. It's dark out and I'm not sure what time it is. Chandler's head is laying in my lap as I play with his hair.

"They counted on you! You were their lead-" the TV screen goes blank and the red light dims.

"Chandler," I whisper, shaking him awake. "Chandler."

"Wha..." he asks sleepily, sitting up.

"I think the power went out."

"Shit," he mumbles, standing up.

"Go get your dad," I whisper/yell.

"No, it's okay. I know what to do," Chandler assures me.

I follow him to the backyard and stand by the door as he walks around the back of the house to find the power box. After a couple minutes, Chandler walks back around to the door.

"Did you fix it?" I ask, rubbing my arms to keep warm.

"Something cut through the wire," he says, rubbing the back of his neck.

Immediately, my heart starts racing and my palms get sweaty. "Chandler, this is serious. Someone cut the power to our house."

"Or an animal chewed through it. You never kn-"

Chandler gets cut off by the sound of glass breaking inside the house.

"Ok. I'm done. I'm calling the police," I state, feeling my pockets for my phone.

"Savanna, calm down. It was probably just Grayson," Chandler attempts to calm me down.

"Shit! I left my phone on the couch," I grumble, looking into the dark house. "There's someone inside and I refuse to go back in there."
