It's been a few weeks since Doug broke into our house. He was shot three times, but didn't die and now he's in prison. After weeks of hearings, questionings, and trials, our life is finally almost back to normal.
I adjust my bracelet on my wrist and apply last minute lipstick. As I stand up from my desk, I smooth out my skirt and take a deep breath.
My phone bleeps, notifying me that's it's February fourteenth and I have a date with Chandler in thirty minutes.
"Ready?" Chandler asks from behind me.
I grab my purse and turn around only to have my voice get caught in my throat.
Chandler stands, leaning against my doorframe in black slacks, a black dress shirt, and black dress shoes. He looks hot.
"Yeah," I mumble, only able to get one word out.
Chandler looks up and his face has almost the same reaction as mine. "Woah," he breathes in amazement.
I smile widely and walk over to Chandler. We walk downstairs and out to his car together. It's a nice night. Chilly, but not bitter cold.
After about a twenty minute drive, we arrive at a sushi restaurant. Not the cheap, scary sushi bar in the mall foodcourt, but a classy, upscale sushi restaurant where they have valet and cloth napkins.
"How'd you know I love sushi?" I whisper once we've been seated.
"I like to listen to you talk about stuff you like. Especially when it's something you're passionate about. Your face lights up and you ramble on and on about the topic for hours." Chandler smirks and reaches across the table to rub my hand with his thumb.
I smile shyly. It's nice to know that Chandler pays attention. It's one of the characteristics I love most about him.
"You're the same way when you talk about swimming. Why don't you do it anymore?" Chandler asks.
A grin forces it's way onto my lips as I remember the days I used to swim. In middle school and over the summer. I loved it.
"Savanna?"
"I'm too busy. There's not enough time for stuff like that. I told you," I sigh.

"No way! Butt naked!" Chandler exclaims, attempting to control his laughter.
"Keep your voice down," I scold. "And yes, butt naked. I was two. My brother was eleven. He thought it'd be funny to lock me outside instead of putting me in the tub."
"That's too good," Chandler chuckles, wiping his tears. "I once tried to baptize Grayson in the tub. He had just turned one and I had just turned four I think. Not a good combination."
I laugh into my napkin until I notice the lady sitting at the table adjacent to us. She's been staring at Chandler and I all night and it's starting to worry me.
I attempt to ignore her and continue my conversation with Chandler, but she stands up and starts to walk over. My heart starts racing.
What am I doing wrong?
"Excuse me?" She asks once she's standing by our table. "Are y'all those kids from The Walking Dead?"
My fear immediately goes away and I relax.
"Yeah, we are," Chandler beams.
"My husband and I are huge fans. Could we get a picture with y'all really quickly?"
"Of course!" I reply as she hands me her phone.
"Kraig!" The woman calls. "Come here. It is them."
