Your POV
I am currently at work right now and we've had a very busy day today, not stressful, just flat out busy. These kinds of days around the office are the worst because every time Michael plans out a nice evening for us, I have to work late and we hardly get to see each other sometimes because of our busy schedule so it sucks.
It's currently 10:00 PM and I was supposed to be home 2 hours ago but like always, I'm stuck here at this boring, dull office. Usually if I'm late like this, Michael will call the office (since I can't make any calls) and ask if I'm ok or not, or when I'll be home but he hasn't done that today. The receptionist Helen (who has the bitchiest attitude) is supposed to forward all calls that are relevant to employees and ever since she found out I was married to Michael, she treats me like the scum of the Earth. It's not my fault men aren't attracted to women with personalities like hers.
Out of curiosity, I call Helen to see if Michael called me at all today. I pick up the office phone and dial the receptionist number.
After 2 rings, she picks up. "Hello?" I say as nicely as possible.
"Why hello Mrs. Jackson." Helen responds with a snarky tone in her voice.
I roll my eyes at her attitude. I can't stand this woman. "Anyways, I was calling to see if MY husband called at all? Usually he calls to check up on me." I sigh lightly.
"No he didn't call today. Maybe he just doesn't care." Helen giggles as if that was funny.
And at that moment, I was triggered.
"Bitc- you know what? How about I come downstairs and go right up to that junky ass desk of yours and see if you'll repeat what you just said. Don't try me, I'm not the one." I was having a bad night to begin with but now, she made it even worse for me.
After I said that, she hung up the phone quickly. I bet she won't try to come for me again.
1 hour later
"Y/N since you're waiting for the papers to print out, would you mind locking up for me once you're finished?" My boss peeks his head in through the crack of my office door.
"Um sure. I don't mind doing that." I smile lightly.
He sighs in relief. "Oh thanks Y/N, you're the best!" He closes the door to my office but opens it once again.
"Oh yeah, tell Michael and Mycah I said hi, and goodnight Y/N!"
"Goodnight sir!" I reply as he leaves the office.
Since no one is here, I can finally make a call! I pick up the phone and dial the house number. Hopefully someone picks up.
The phone goes straight to voicemail and I instantly get worried. Usually the maids or Michael picks up the phone. He might be asleep, I don't blame him.
After the papers finish printing, I grab my purse and my jacket and make my way out of the building. After I make it outside, I grab the keys and lock up the building then I jump into my car and make my way back home. Finally.
I pull up in the driveway and can see that the lights are off. Yep, Michael went to sleep which means that Mycah is asleep also.
I pull out my house keys from my purse and unlock the front door to my home. Once inside, I close the door quietly, careful of not waking anyone up.
As I'm walking to the stairs, I realized that I didn't turn on the lights so I end up bumping into someone and I start screaming.
"OH MY GOD! MICHAEL!" My heart starts racing fast and I honestly cannot breathe right now.
"Glad to see you remembered you had a house." Michael states sarcastically.
"Oh my. Michael I'm so sorry. I had a lot to do at the office today, I'm really sorry about that." I say as I walk upstairs. Michael follows behind me.
"Uh, where do you think you're going?" Michael snaps at me.
I sigh out in frustration. "Michael I don't have time for this right now. I'm sorry I missed the date but I couldn't do anything about that!" I continue with my original route and make my way upstairs to our bedroom.
Michael follows me upstairs into the bedroom. "And WE ARE gonna have this conversation Y/N. Ever since you've had this job you're always coming home late, never answering my calls, or just seem distant from me and it's starting to irritate the fuck out of me." Michael raises his voice at you. Someone really must've peed in his cereal because he's never really this angry.
I unbutton my blouse and turn around to face Michael and put my hand up as of saying 'stop'. "Pause. One, I told you before I can't answer your damn calls because we're not allowed to make calls from the office phone unless the receptionist forwards it, two, I was late because I had a lot of work to do and the boss wanted me to lock up, three, if I seem so 'distant' it's because you're always at rehearsal or doing your job, so don't try to come for me when we're both just as guilty Michael!" I quickly make my way into our bathroom so I can let down my hair. Michael once again, follows me into the bathroom.
"Stop. Pause. Rewind, if you were so busy, how come when I called your job, the lady said you didn't show up for work today?! Explain that shit then Y/N?!"
Wait, I'm confused. Why would he think I didn't show up to work if I just freaking told him I did.
"Wait, wait, wait. Who was the lady that told you that?" I raise my eyebrow at him.
He furrows his eyebrows. "I dont know some lady named Helen. Why is that important?!"
I shake my head and chuckle. "That woman I tell ya." I sigh and continue to get ready for bed.
Michael looks even more frustrated than he was before. "What about her?"
I squint my eyes at Michael. "Clearly she lied to you. I called her dumbass to see if you called the office today, and she told me that you didn't call."
Michael sighs in irritation. "Now why would she do that?"
"Because she's childish, and for some reason, hates me but it's ok because I hate her too."
Michael finally calms down. "I'm sorry I overreacted like that baby. I didn't know-" I cut him off.
"Michael," I sigh. "It's fine I would've reacted like that too." I giggle lightly.
Michael walks up behind me and puts his arms around me. "I'm really sorry for that babe I just really miss you." Michael snuggles his head into my neck.
I kiss his curls. "I miss you too babes."
