{Rhett}
After Carrigan walks into her class, I stand outside and wait for the douchebag to come back. When he does, he smirks at the sight of me. My instincts tell me to go beat his face in, but I hear her voice telling me he's not worth it.
"Waiting for me?" He asks, smugly.
"Why were you waiting outside her class?" I ask him.
"I wanted to talk to her." He says.
"Her right hook not make it clear enough for you?" I question. "If her's didn't, mine sure as hell will."
"Believe it or not I wanted to apologize." He rolls his eyes at me.
"Why so you could try to sleep with her again?"
The way he smirks at me is the answer I need. My fists ball up, and I'm beginning to see red. Carrigan's eyes flash in my mind and I have to stop myself from doing this; no matter how worth it it would be.
"What is your fascination with her?" I ask him. "She clearly isn't in to you."
"That's point." He says. "She's a challenge, not like the rest of the girls here."
I roll my eyes at him. "She's never going to want you after you left her in the middle of fucking nowhere. She called me to save her. Doesn't that tell you something?"
Jake just scoffs. "She'll give in, and choose me one day. I just have to keep trying."
"She's just a game to you." I spit out. "You don't want anything other than to fuck her and dump her."
"And that isn't what you're trying to get from her?" He questions. "You and I are the same person."
"Fuck that." I exclaim. "You and I are nothing alike."
"Aren't we?" He asks. "Hooking up with a new girl, just because we can?"
"That's not me anymore."
Jake scoffs and leans into the wall. "Right. This bitch is turning you into the good guy? Just wait till you sleep with her, then come talk to me if you're still the good guy you're pretending to be. You like the challenge too; it's the only reason you're still there."
"Not even close."
Jake laughs again. "Is the big bad Carter falling in love with a worthless freshman?"
My blood begins to boil, and the anger inside is getting harder to control.
"If she's so worthless, why can't you seem to leave her the fuck alone?" I question.
He grins. "She's just a good time I can't wait to add to the list."
All rational thinking leaves my mind, until the moment my fist connects with his jaw. Jake stumbles backward and chuckles, before lunging at me. We fall to the ground, but I manage to get on top of him and land three good punches to his face, before hands are pulling me off of him. He just laughs as I am kicking and pulling out of their grips.
