Shawn- I got a hotel so I don't have to crash at your place tonight :)

Roni- okay cool

I can't help but be disappointed that I won't spend another night with him. I just shake off the feeling and get back to my homework. We had an essay due today and I haven't even started it.

The teacher said she can grade it tomorrow without taking off points if I finish it tonight. I think it's because she's aware of my situation at home. I don't want to be treated differently in school but this is pretty cool.

I'm only on the introductory paragraph and I don't feel like doing this. I pull out my phone again and go through my contacts. I don't want to bother Shawn, but I keep coming back to his contact.

Roni- you should come over.

Shawn- why is something wrong?

Roni- no I'm just bored.

Shawn- haha okay I'll be there.

I smile and put my homework away. I'll just have to stay up late to finish it. I used to be super careful with my grades in school, but not now. About thirty minutes later, Shawn knocks on the door.

I smile and walk out of my room to answer it. When I enter the living room, my Aunt is standing with the door wide open and Shawn standing outside.

"Oh hey." I say and grab Shawn's hand, pulling him with me.

"What who is this?" Aunt June asks, grabbing my arm. Shawn looks down at our joined hands and shrugs.

"I'm Roni's boyfriend." He says like it's no big deal.

"No." I shake my head.

"Yes." He smiles at nods. My Aunt eventually walks away smiling.

"Your my girlfriend now." He says and pokes my cheek. I start to blush and I'm too flustered to protest. He pulls me by my hand to my room.

We lay on my bed and continue to hold hands. I used to hold hands with Dylan all the time and it was never this nice. His hands were clammy and kind of small. Shawn's hands are soft and they envelope mine perfectly.

"Why didn't you tell me about the winter formal?" He asks me.

"I didn't talk to you until yesterday." I laugh.

"And I wasn't planning on going." I add.

"Why not?"

"I don't know, I don't really like dances." I shrug. Of course I'm going to prom but I don't like homecoming or the winter formal or the spring dance that we had in Arizona.

"I love you." He kisses my cheek. I get flustered again and butterfly's erupt in my stomach. My face goes completely red and I smile nervously.

"I love you too, Shawn." I mumble. It's different saying these words when you actually mean them.

He leans over and kisses me. I put my hand up around his neck and he balances himself over me on his elbows. It slowly turns to us making out on my bed. It only lasts about a minute and then we both stop.

I tell him I have homework and he says he'll be my motivation to finish. I laugh but start my essay anyways.

When I'm finishing up my last paragraph, I get a phone call from Alex.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hey, I have something to tell you." She says sounding rushed.

"What is it?"

"My friend from work -Luke- asked me on a date." She says a bit panicky.

"I told you he liked you!" I exclaim.

"I didn't believe you!" She says through the phone.

"Well how did you turn him down? Does he know about Jade?"

"I said yes to the date." She mumbles.

"Alex!" I scold.

"I called Jade and told her I panicked and she just laughed and told me to have fun so I think she's fine with it. She knows I don't like him." Alex explains.

"Then I guess you could go for it, but that'd hurt his feelings if he found out." I tell her.

"Ugh I don't know what to do." She groans.

"Turn him down and tell him your gay?" Shawn suggests.

"Veronica Lang. Is that Shawn Mendes in your bedroom?" Alex asks.

"Yes." I blush and look at Shawn.

"But he's right, and I'm hanging up now." I tell her. She begins to protest but I hang up. I want to help her but there's nothing I can do.

I lay back on my floor just as I hear my door opening. Can't I just have one moment of peace?

"I will be out of town on Thursday and Friday so be responsible and please go to support group." My Aunt says.

"Hello Roni's boyfriend." She greets Shawn with a smile. He smiles sheepishly in return.

"Okay I promise I won't throw a party or something, Daisy will be here anyways." I shrug.

"True." My aunt shrugs with me. She leaves the room after that.

Shawn suddenly turns to me and furrows his eyebrows. I look at him curiously, waiting for him to speak.

"Support group?" He asks.

"Yeah, the night you left, I went to a party and my Aunt had to pick me up. She got super mad and thought it was because of my living situation." As I explain, he nods and keeps a neutral expression.

He doesn't seem too worried, which I'm happy about. I don't want attention because of this. Support group does help a bit and I met Tasha and Aaron. I'm not really friends with Tasha but we sit next to each other every Friday so I guess we are acquaintances.

"I'm tired." I stand up and jump onto the bed, next to him.

"Same." He says and wraps an arm around my waist.

"You have a hotel." I mumble but don't protest at all.

"I can sleep in my hotel tomorrow night." He says and pulls the covers over us.
