It's Saturday morning and I look over to see Shawn laying next to me. I didn't even remember falling asleep. I reach over to grab my phone and it's flooded with messages and missed calls.

Aaron- um you left us on the roof.

Thalia- where'd you go?

Jade- I know I told you Shawn needed to get laid but I didn't mean right now.

Jade- fine we can party without you.

I ignore all of them and lock my phone. Shawn groans and rolls over. I watch as his eyes flutter open and he gives me a lazy smile, which looks more like a smirk. I blush and look away from him. I'm going to permanently stain my cheeks pink if I keep blushing. I can't help it when I'm around Shawn. And I get flustered really easily.

"Kiss?" He asks and puckers his lips at me.

"No." I scrunch up my nose.

"Why not?"

"Morning breath, go brush your teeth and then you can kiss me." I push his shoulder.

"Hey Roni?" He asks. I turn my head and his lips slam into mine. I push him away and wipe my face with the back of my hand.

"Ew gross." I grimace. He laughs and runs into the bathroom across the hall.

"Can I use the orange tooth brush?" He asks.

"No that's mine!" I yell into the hallway.

"Too late!" He says. I roll my eyes and make a mental note to buy a new toothbrush.

When he comes back he smells like mint. I smile and walk into the bathroom. I brush my own teeth and when I come back into my bedroom, Shawn is laying on the floor.

"What are you doing?" I laugh.

"I don't know, you were taking too long." He complains.

"I was literally gone for a few minutes." I roll my eyes. He's so impatient.

He rolls around on the floor until he's laying his head on top of my feet. I'm standing, looking down at him.

"Your so weird." I say and walk away from him, into the hallway.

"What do you want to do today?" He asks.

"I don't know, I'm pretty tired." I shrug my shoulders and take a seat on the living room couch. He sits next to me and doesn't say anything else. We sit in silence for a few minutes.

There's a knock on the door.

"Can you get it Shawn?" I ask and smile wide.

"You're ridiculous, it's your apartment." He rolls his eyes.

"Shawn." I drawl out his name and pout.

"I'm comfy!" He argues.

"What good are you if you don't open the door for me? Bad boyfriend." I tell him and walk to the door. I open it without looking through the peephole thingy.

There's a man standing in the door way. I'm confused to see his happy expression. I look around and see he's in a uniform. A military uniform. My eyes widen and my jaw drops.

I throw my arms around his neck with tears filling my eyes. Shawn comes into the doe way behind me, confused.

"Who was at the do-" he stops when he sees what's happening.

"You're so grown, I could barely recognize you." He says into my hair.

"I didn't even know who you were." I sniffle when he releases me.

"Who's that?" He asks, pointing to Shawn.

"That's my boyfriend, Shawn." I blush. Again with the blushing. I almost roll my eyes at myself.

"Does mom know your here?" I ask him.

"Yeah, she didn't tell you because I wanted to surprise you." He smiles. He looks tired. He has frown lines in his forehead and his eyes are sort of droopy. I don't recognize him very well but I remember him.

"Well come on in." I say when I realize we have been standing in the door way the whole time. He walks into the apartment and looks around.

"Is your Aunt here?" He asks.

"Yeah she's in her room, how long are you staying?"

"I'm only staying a few days." He nods.

"So can we go out to dinner tonight? Me you, Aunt June and Daisy?" I suggest. I really want to get to know him, I haven't seen him in about 8 years.

"Of course we can, Shawn should come too." He winks at me. If there's one thing I remember about my dad, it's that he loves to mess with me. If I had a crush on a boy when I was little, he would tease me about it everyday.

"Okay." I answer him with a shrug. I was going to abject but I really want Shawn to be there.

I smile at him before running off to Daisy's room. She's laying on her bed, staring at her black tv screen.

"Is that your favorite show?" I ask her.

"Shut up. I'm so bored." She groans and rolls onto the floor.

"Well we're going to dinner tonight."

"What's the occasion?" She asks. Restaurants are usually expensive in New York City so we barely ever go out to eat.

"My dad is here." I smile. She nods, seeming unaffected. She probably already knew he was coming.

When I come back into the living room, my dad is sitting on the couch. Shawn is awkwardly standing by the tv.

My dad sees my expression and try's to make conversation.

"So Shawn." He starts. Shawn's eyes widen slightly but he covered it up so that only I could see his surprise.

"Are you a senior?" He asks. He's probably asking because I'm a senior and dating an older guy would be 'weird'.

"Nope I'm out of high school." He smiles, but then realizes he just admitted being older.

"Um I'm still 18." He chuckle nervously. I didn't think he'd be the type to get nervous in front of my dad. I stand corrected.

"What are you doing with your life?" My dad furrows his eyebrows.

"I'm a singer."

Shawn doesn't see, but my dad rolls his eyes at me. I glare at him slightly.

"Shawn's going on a world tour this spring. His album, Illuminate, was top of the charts as soon as it was released." I don't know why I felt the need to tell him all of this but I wanted to make Shawn look good.

"Illuminate? This is Shawn Mendes?" My dad asks, not believing me. Shawn laughs nervously again.

"Um yes." He says looking at me when he says it. He's trying to avoid looking at my dad.

"Woah, how'd you find him?" My dad whispers.

"Um initially, I bumped into him behind one of his concert venues. It was completely on accident though. And then I found out he was staying at the hotel that I work at." I explain.

"That is funny that you delivered room service to my room, aren't there other people who do that?" He asks smugly. He knows it was planned.

"Um yeah Alex told me that was your room." I blush. I am dating Shawn and I still get embarrassed to admit that I liked him before he knew.

My dad just smiles at us.
