"Tokyo is amazing." I say as we walk past a group of 3 girls.
One of the girls has bright pink hair and colorful makeup. She has knee-high furry blue boots and a tu-tu style skirt. Her shirt is plain white. Another girl has straight, long black hair and a baby-doll pink dress that flares out at the waist line. It has lace trim and a lace collar. Her shoes are 7 inch chunky heeled boots. Her socks have lace sticking out of the top.
The third girl is a lot more like me, but not quite. She's wearing black skinny jeans and a T-shirt some anime show on it. Her shoes are converses. She looks younger than the other two girls so maybe she's a little sister that was forced to tag along.
"It's so diverse." I say and look through the window to a sushi shop.
"I thought you'd like it." Shawn smiles and grabs my hand.
"Henry said it was okay but he doesn't have the same appreciation for urban architecture and culture as I do." I tell Shawn without looking at him. There is too much to see.
"We leave tomorrow morning though." He tells me and nudges my shoulder.
"Ugh don't remind me."
"We need to get back to your moms apartment so we can have dinner before we leave." He tells me.
"Yeah I know, we should head back now."
We walk into my mom and dad's apartment and look around. I don't see anyone.
I walk down the hall and open my brother's door. He's laying on his bed with his head buried in a book.
"Keep reading, that's good." I say before backing out of his room.
"They might be running errands, just wait an hour." I tell Shawn.
My parents come through the door 30 minutes later with shopping bags covering their arms. My mom is, however not carrying any. My father is the one covered in shopping bags. The bags are over flowing with expensive price tags and gold jewelry.
I never said I was poor but I didn't think I was rich. I look around the apartment again and see many vases and small statues that must cost a fortune.
"How did you pay for all this?" I ask her, taking out a black silk blouse from a bag.
"I got a huge raise, and when I say huge, I mean it. I don't know why I got it but I love it." She smiles and takes out a necklace that probably had a real diamond on it.
"That's great." I nod and take out another piece of clothing. It's a big sweater with a soft brown material. My mom glares at me as I put it over my head. It's so warm and cozy. Normally I have a problem with sweaters being itchy but this one is perfect.
"Can I have this?" I ask.
"That was 80 dollars." She frowns.
"Is the thread laced in gold? My god.." I look down at the expensive sweater and frown.
"You can have it." She rolls her eyes.
"Thanks mom." I smile wide and kiss her cheek.
"Let's get dinner started, shall we?" My mom says after I look through all her clothes and also choose to keep a necklace. It has a silver chain and a small diamond on the end. I made my mom promise me it wasn't silver before I put it on.
"Oh my god this tastes so good." Shawn literally moans in my ear.
"Shut up. I like the chicken too." I hit his stomach with my balled-up fist.
"That didn't hurt." He giggles. What is wrong with him tonight?
"Because I have small hands. You know this." I pout.
