chapter six | a new plan
Right after Artemis left the school with her friend the four Shadowhunters decided to return to their hotel room. The red head was standing in front of the window while the other three were by a table in the back.
"Okay, what do we know about Artemis so far?" Jace asked the group as Alec crossed arms over his chest.
"Well, we know she was raised as a mundane. She's a senior and she cares deeply about her friends." Clary spoke as she walked toward the back table.
"Did you get any other information?" Alec asked the red head. He had a feeling she didn't because Artemis had disappeared after talking for 5 minutes.
"No. All we talked about was me being new and how I changed schools with you guys."
"Okay," Alec paused while looking down at the table. The table at the moment was filled of reports on Artemis, her school, her friends and her adopted parents. His eyes scanned the papers before his gaze landed on a photo of Artemis with her friends. "what if we get her away from her friends?"
"What do mean?" His sister asked as her gaze followed his. When she saw the photo she still didn't know what her brother was saying.
"Well, think about it. If we get her to hang out with us more then we can get the cup faster." Izzy didn't look convince with what her brother was saying. Jace on the other hand had was thinking about a plan.
Clary stared at her friends oddly. While voicing Isabelle's thoughts Clary said, "I don't think it will be that easy."
"And why do you say that?" Alec asked with an eye roll. He in fact did think it would be this easy. It's not like Artemis spends all her time with her friends anyway.
"Because, Alec from the looks of it she loves her friends and I don't think she's going to leave them that easily." Clary snapped after having enough of Alec's attitude.
"There has to be a way to get her away from those mundanes." Izzy told the group. "She doesn't belong here anyway."
At that moment Jace thought to voice his idea. "I have an idea." The three teens just stared at him in question. Non of them said anything though they just waited for Jace to continue. "What if Alec starts talking to her?"
"What?" Clary and Izzy asked while Alec said, "No." He still had arms crossed over his chest, but this time a hard look was visible on his face.
Alec didn't like this idea one bit. He was never supposed to be this involved with the plan. He was supposed to watch Clary get closer to the blonde mundane, not himself.
Jace smiled while patting Alec twice on the back. "Come on, think about it. If we get Artemis to talk to you then we can get her away from the mundanes. Then before we know it we tell her everything, get the cup and go home."
"Maybe Jace is right." Izzy spoke up as she watched her brother. Alec still didn't look convinced. He hadn't even said a word so Izzy had a feeling he wasn't going to agree.
"I don't like this, but if it will get us the cup and my mother faster then let's do it." Clary added with a nod.
Looks like the shadowhunters had a new plan but there was one down side. The one who will be leading the plan still hadn't said anything.
"Alec, what do you think?" Izzy finally asked. "Come on you know how important getting the cup is."
I don't like this plan. That's what Alec wanted to say. But then he thought that maybe this was for the best. After all if this worked then he would be back home in no time. Not to mention Izzy was right. The most important thing was to get the cup back to the institute.
But there was one last thing running through his mind. Nothing can go wrong with this plan, right?
