chapter twelve | the fight
By the time the blondes archery lesson was over it was already dark out. The moon was out, the stars held a certain glow to them and while the Shadowhunters stayed in their hotel room, Artemis was busy trying to rescue her best friend.
At that moment the blonde was inside a truck full of dead bodies. She had been placed in a black bag, one that Scott had gotten from their mom earlier that day. Next to her was a dead bodie that smelled so bad Artemis had to cover her nose with her jacket. Scott and the other two boys where in the truck as well but they were at the back.
The blonde couldn't hear anything as the truck came to a stop. The smell was just to much for her to pay attention to what was happening outside. Not to mention she didn't care if she heard anything or not. All the blonde wanted was to get inside Eichen so she could save Lydia.
By the time they reached the building Artemis was beyond ready to get out of that black bag she called a death trap. Scott shook her shoulder after she and the boys got left inside a morgue.
As Artemis unzipped her plastic bag she placed her arms outside of it before sitting up. At that moment Stiles had also sat up in the table near her's. All she heard was "Never again." From Stiles as he started to move around inside the bag. Artemis nodded in agreement, there was no way she was doing that again.
"Fifteen minutes. Starting now." Scott spoke as he looked up from his phone. He cast a glance towards his sister as she removed the bag from around her shoulders and legs. After stepping out of the bag Artemis heard a bang come from behind her. What she failed to realize was that Stiles hadn't been so luck with exiting his bag.
Unlike Artemis Stiles had gotten stuck, which caused the boy to fall to the floor, bag and all. Artemis let a laugh escape her lips while Stiles glared up at her from his spot on the floor. After Stiles's fall Artemis had helped the poor human boy stand and soon they were off in search of Lydia.
The four teens where walking down the hall when they came to a stop. Around the corner the pack could see three guards standing by the gate. Artemis looked over at Scott in worry when she realized they were covering the only way to get to Lydia.
"What are they doing there?" Scott asked once he noticed the look his sister was giving him. He reached up and held her shoulder in reassurance before looking back at Stiles.
"I don't know. Their rounds should've ended five minutes ago." Stiles replied while he stared down the hall in confusion.
"I can take them." Liam spoke out as Artemis knitted her eyebrows together in question.
"No one is taking anyone, okay, werewolf boy?" Artemis snapped as she took a glance behind the corner wall. Scott held her hand tightly as a way for her to calm down. Which worked, but not by a lot.
