chapter twenty-two | a happy memory
You'd think it would be Alec who pulled away. He should have because he knew the blonde was only doing this as a way to forget about her pain. But he couldn't bring himself to do it. Artemis on the other hand wasn't okay with this so she pulled away. Once she pulled back she stared into Alec's brown eyes. The blonde was hopping he would say something, anything but he said nothing.
"I am so sorry for doing that." Artemis paused as she looked down at her lap. "It's not far for you to be pulled into my problems."
Alec cleared his throat. "Um, it's cool... I know you didn't mean it." It was true he knew she didn't like him and he knew the kiss meant nothing to her.
After a moment of silence the blonde said, "So, yeah, I'll take you inside so you can see the box."
"Okay." Alec replied as he followed after Artemis.
Once they reached the blondes room Alec took his chance to look around. Artemis was too busy inside her closet to realize that Alec had picked up two old pictures that where on her bed side table. The first picture was of Isaac with a big smile on his face.
