chapter thirty-three | the decision to save a life

Saving lives is something Artemis does all the time. Back home she's a lot like her brother. Which means she puts everyone else's needs in front of her own. She doesn't mind though especially if it's the needs of her family. But it's one thing to help the people you love fight evil than to help the people who kidnapped you.

Artemis stood in the infirmary looking at Clary like she was crazy. "Why the hell would I help you find this book if you kidnapped me?"

"Artemis, please. This is the only way to wake up our mom. If we find the Book Of The White then Magnus can use his powers to wake her up."

"I don't even know who that guy is and besides why would I help? You kidnapped me!"

"Well, you left me with no choice! You didn't want to come and meet our mom so I had to kidnap you."

"That's because I don't belong in your world and let's not forget that you hit me and Isaac over the head. Now you tell me, would you help me if you were in my place?"

Clary paused for a moment but nodded. "You're right and I'm sorry for doing this to you but you have to understand-"

The blonde cut her off. "Understand what?! That you took me away from my friends and family when they needed me the most! My pack could be in danger right now and I can't do anything about it because I'm on the other side of the country!"

Clary sighed but didn't say anything. She just walked out and left Artemis to worry about her friends.

The blonde was now in a empty bedroom. She was in a new pair of clothes now thanks to Alec's sister and at the moment she was sitting on the bed looking down at her phone. Artemis hoped that any minute now Isaac would call, but as the minutes went on she realized he wasn't going to.

The blonde stood a moment later and walked up to the mirror and by just looking at herself she felt different. Her long blonde hair was down and you could see the rune peak out through the top of her shirt. Her legs were covered in black leather leggings and the heels she had on made her look a foot taller.

Over all she looked hot but she didn't feel that way. This look, this version of her wasn't her and it was killing her because she felt like one of them.

The sound of her phone ringing brought the blonde back from her thoughts. As soon as the second ring sounded she ran towards the bed and thru herself on it.

"Hello?!" Artemis asked in worry as she placed her phone besides her ear.

"Art!" Isaac's voice sounds from the other end.

The blonde sighed. "Thank God you called. I've been so worried something bad had happened."

"We're fine, Artemis and I have good news."

"What good news?!"

"The Dread Doctors are dead, we saved Mason and Theo is were he belongs, in hell."

Artemis laughed happily. "I'm so glad everything went okay!"

"Me too..." Isaac sighed.

"What's wrong?"

"Now comes the hard part... Telling Scott about what happened to you."
