chapter eleven | the archery lesson
After the long morning Artemis had she was finally at school. While the rest of the pack was in class or doing god knows what Artemis was at the library. As for what she was doing, she was reading. About? Well, she was reading about archery. Ever since she was little Scott's mom would let her go to self defense classes. When she was old enough Artemis took classes that helped her fight with a blade and a sword.
Not to mention back in sophomore year Chris Argent took an interest in teaching her how to be a good hunter. Back than she had to do the same training lessons as Allison. The only difference was that Artemis never intended to betray her brother like the Argents had hoped. Instead she took those skills and helped fight for both Scott and Isaac.
Thankfully after Allison came back from France Artemis formed a better father daughter relationship with Chris. Right before Allison died Artemis got to complete her training as an Argent. She also got to make her own blades with the same Argent silver molding. Officially Artemis was an Argent by hunter status.
What Artemis never learned was archery and yes Allison Argent was teaching her. But it all suddenly stopped when Allison developed feelings for Isaac. At that moment Artemis wanted nothing to do with Allison or Isaac for that matter.
Of course since Allison's death Artemis didn't blame her or held it against her. The blonde doesn't even blame Isaac. But now since Artemis didn't have Allison anymore she has to learn all this by herself. She couldn't even ask Chris because she didn't want to bother him. Also because she felt that if he taught Artemis she would just be bringing up memories of Allison. So that's why she's at the library reading.
Artemis was so attached to her book that she hadn't realized someone was standing in front of her table. When the blonde looked up she saw Alec standing there. "Can I help you?" The blonde asked in a bored tone.
"Yeah," Alec gave her a smile. "uhm... You come here often?"
Artemis rolled her eyes at the boy. "Is that seriously your best pick up line? My boyfriend's pick up lines are much better..." Artemis paused when she realized she called Isaac her 'boyfriend' and not 'ex-boyfriend.' "I mean ex-boyfriend." She paused again as she thought over her previous words. She didn't understand why she had called Isaac her boyfriend. Maybe she was thinking to much of her past that she forgot.
Her gaze had stayed locked on her books. Alec watched Artemis in confusion before clearing his throat to get her attention back. "Never mind," She said as she tried to change the subject, "um, what are you doing here?"
Alec took that as he's chance to sit down. He crossed his fingers together as he placed them on the table. "I just wanted to ask you some questions about last night."
Artemis froze. She didn't want Alec to notice so she tried to think of something. But in the end all she said was, "I'm sorry, but both Scott and Stiles said I couldn't say anything about what happened last night."
