Chapter 7

Mettaton went into the lab after he got dressed and put his fabulous pink boots on again. Undyne and Alphys were chatting away while the skeleton stared at one of his posters on the wall. He cleared his throat to get their attention. "Oh! Mettaton. I'll quickly fix your door now. It'll only be a moment." The doctor walked away, leaving him with the fish and skeleton. Well this was awkward. But he was a star afterall and use to an audience. He was about to speak but Undyne beat him to it. She pratically jogged over to him and showed him her sharp fangs when she smiled. "Soooo Mettaton right? Right. Alphys told me what happened yesterday ya know." She threw her arm around his shoulder. He didn't like strangers touching him. Especially strangers that never came to his shows. "Told you what darling?" He asked.
"You and her. Your relationship. Ya know, your mommy. And do you know what that makes me?" She leaned her face closer to his. He was uncomfortable and was two seconds away from pushing her away from him. How dare she. "What does it make you darling?" He was ready if she tried anything funny. She grabbed his face and turned his head, making his ear come too close to her lips and whispered in it. Oh god. This fish woman was touching his beautiful face with her dirty grubby fingers!! His face! "It makes me your mom too. So you better behave!" The robot couldn't take this anymore. Undyne would never be his mother. Never!!! She was too rough and dirty! Too violent! Too scary! "Like hell you are!" He pushed her back and ran for his life towards his room where he saw Alphys working on the door. "Alphys! Alphys darling!"

"Mettaton? What's wrong?" He wrapped his arms around her chubby form and pulled her close to him. "Tell me it isn't so! I need you to tell me it isn't so!" Her creation dramatically fell to the floor and sobbed. "That woman is crazy! Look I know you like her or whatever but you need to tell her to leave. Now." The dinosaur raised an eyebrow. "Why?" He shook her a little. "She's gross!! And she threatened me! And-and- she told me something awful! Oh just awful things Alphys!" He started to sob again, making oil leak from his eyes. She patted his back and sighed. He would always be a drama queen. Her drama queen. She pulled out a hanky, drying his metal face off. "Let's go see those two huh? Come on." She took his hand and led him to their visitors back in the lab. Papyrus was nowhere in sight but Undyne stood near the clustered desk,trying to look innocent. Alphys noticed that the skeleton wasn't around. "Where'd Papyrus go?" The fish looked up and pretended to act surprise at their presence. "Oh hey guys! Paps? Yeah he went for a walk. Couldn't uh, handle being here anymore. Said a certain someone made him nervous and fidgety and that the Great Papyrus didn't wanna be seen that way by them or whatever. But don't you worry, he'll be back once he's great again. Or at least that's what he told me." She shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. Mettaton was confused but didn't dwell on it. Alphys just rolled her eyes and made her way to the warrior. The robot hid behind her and glared at Undyne. "Anyway, what's going on with you two?" The doctor motioned between them. "She said such awful things to me. And touched me with her gross hands! Pervert!" Mettaton yelled. Undyne smiled and cracked her knuckles just to scare him. "Stop! Now both of you tell me what happened. How about you start?" She pointed to her crush. "Oh gladly."

"What?! That's not fair!"
"Shhh. Don't get so flustered. I'll give you another surprise later alright?" The yellow dinosaur rubbed his thigh and smiled, reassuring him that it would be fine. She just needed someone to tell her the truth without being over dramatic about it. She knew Undyne wouldn't lie. It wasn't in her nature. "Another surprise?! Oooo! What is it?" She giggled at how fast his mood changed at being told that. "It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you silly." He pouted and crossed his arms. "It was just a joke. I told Mettaton here what you told me. Then I grabbed him and said that I'd be his mom too since well, you know." She wiggled her eyebrows at Alphys who blushed a fierce red. "It was a joke. Well sorta...." She laughed. "W-well th-then. Everything i-is fine M-Mettaton. She was o-only j-joking. Can you forgive h-her?" He only huffed and looked away. "Just don't touch me again. Especially my handsome beautiful precious face. I'm going for a walk." He made his way to the exit. "Don't you have a show or something? Shouldn't you be doing that?" Undyne crossed her arms and looked smugged. He did not like this monster at all. Infact he disliked her even more than before. "I decided to take the day off. You'd know that if you watched my show since I of course announed it yesterday." She shrugged. "I don't like to waste time on meaningless things." He glared at her. Who the hell did she think she was?! "Neither does Alphys but she waste time with you doesn't she darling?" Undyne balled up her fist. "Why you little-" The doctor got in between them quick before any harm was done. She didn't want them fighting. They would have to be around each other anyway now, so why not get along? " You go ahead and take a walk. I'll be here when you get back. A-and don't be g-gone too long okay? P-please?" She started to sweat from embarrassment. He leaned down and pecked her head. "Sure Mom." Now she was sweating even more and knew that the fish was watching. But him and Undyne were both shocked when Alphys quickly kissed his cheek before he pulled away. He smiled at her and left. Undyne chuckled. "Kawaii. Very Kawaii."
