Chapter 41

Undyne threw the covers off her injured body and stood in front of the two of them with balled fist at her side. Mettaton stared up at her, mouth agape. It took him a moment to understand what she had just said to him. She apologized. She actually apologized. "Wh-what?" He asked. The fish rolled her eyes, annoyed. "You heard me. And.......I listened to everything between you two." She scratched the back of her head. "This is very......awkward. Can we just.......I don't know! Make up or some shit?" A blush spread around her cheeks as she tried to avoid eye contact. The robot was touched at her attempt for forgiveness. Although it wasn't the best but at least she was trying. "Yes of course darling!" He got up from the floor and snatched her hand in his but thought it over and instead wrapped her in his cold metal hug. She hissed at the slight pain it caused but managed a smile anyway. A very strained one. Alphys realized how uncomfortable the situation was for Undyne and came over, tapping Mettaton's thigh again, indicating for him to let her go. He did but not before frowning and hesitantly backing off to give her some space. They all avoided the topic of the human. "Oh let's be friends!" The warrior shook her head at him. "Wh-why not?" He asked. She smirked and laughed out loud, too loud. "We're not gonna be friends, we're pratically family now!" She hooked an arm around his neck and got close to his face. "Your my new son buddy." Mettaton swallowed and shivered as her breath hit his ear. He wasn't fond of that idea. Not in the slightest. But for Alphys' sake he smiled. "Gr-great!" Undyne squeezed him tight and pat her girlfriend's head. Looking around the room with disgust she asked, "Where the hell are we anyway? It smells like dust." The robot spun around with his arms out and jumped around excitedly. "This is my old home! Do you like it? Oh please save your breath, I know you love it! Hmmm maybe I should take some of my diaries with me. I do miss writing in them." The two of them watched as the star collected the pink journals that lay spread out on the wooden floor, occasionally  flipping through some of them to see what he had wrote. He stopped at a page and smiled widely at the pink text that explained how he met Alphys and wanted to see her again. Undyne sighed. "Man is he weird. But whatever. Anyway we should go get his phone from Paps. And by the way Metta, I also heard that you two went on a second date. Ooo la la! Gonna give us the details?" That made the robot squeek and blush, trying to hide his face in his books. Alphys giggled and tugged on Undyne's shirt. "Let's go now before he starts to overheat and stutter like I do when I'm clearly embarrassed." The star gritted his teeth and clutched the diary hard in his metal fingers. "I-I'm not embarrassed! Argh!!!" He rushed out the house as both women started to laugh at him.
