Alphys huffed as she worked on her phone, updating its features and figuring out how to save its battery power better even when it overcharged. She twisted the small screw driver against the devices back and sighed again. The scientist missed her baby. Yes, her baby. 'I wish we could have talked about it first before he left.... oh well. Hopefully Papyrus tells him soon and he gets over it. Hopefully.' Alphys clicked the phone case back on and slipped it in her pocket. "Done." The dinosaur scurried over to her microwave and put another cup of instanoodles inside it. 'Maybe I can call Undyne and stop by. Or just surprise her.' As her food started to heat up she went to the bathroom to shower and change into a different lab coat. There wasn't much to wear for her but she got by like any other monster. When done with that she quickly slipped back in her lab and took her noodles along with a pair of chopsticks that she dug for from inside her draws with her out the door. She started to eat happily as the two guards said hello along with smaller monsters in Hotland that she passed by. She waved and smiled at all of them, glad that they knew her but also acknowledge her presence. To them, she was just the royal scientist. A well known monster that wanted to help them all escape the underground. To reach freedom. And for that, they respected her. Alphys held her breath as she left her home and tried desperately to keep her feelings hidden inside. On her way to Undyne's she stared at some yellow flowers that were planted on the side of the fishes house. It made her stomach drop and heartbeat speed up. 'No no. Th-that's not my experiment. Its just nice pretty flowers. But why would she make these? Last time I checked, Undyne doesn't like gardening....' Alphys knocked on the door and brought her tail to her chest, squeezing it tight. She could still see them from the corner of her eyes but chose to ignore it. It seemed like the warrior took longer than usual to answer this time. "Alphy? Hey! What are you doing here?" Undyne smiled wide, showing off her sharp glistening teeth that always made the dinosaur's heart flutter and cheeks turn a bright red. She'd never get tired of seeing it. "I-I wanted to s-surprise you. S-s-surprise! Hehe......" The warrior clapped her hand against her girlfriend's back and pulled her in the house. The dinosaur threw out her cup along with her chopsticks. She had more at home anyway and seeing those flowers made her lose her appetite. "Aww that's sweet of you Alphys! I was just cleaning off my spear. Ya know I was practicing in the echo fields earlier. I think Papy wanted me to give him some advice for his date with your robot but I don't think I was much help. And speaking of him, I suggest a battle! You wouldn't mind would you? He certainly derserves it for that phone call. I haven't forgotten!" She gritted her teeth and cracked her knuckles. 'So that's where he is.' Alphys gave her a worried look. "N-no please. I want you two t-to get along remember? Please no violence." The fish huffed and crossed her arms. "Fine! For you cutie." She bent down and kissed her cheek. The scientist wagged her tail and turned red again. She could feel her face getting hot and sweaty like it always did when they showed affection towards one another. It never failed. "Undyne......wh-why do you have flowers in the fr-front?" The taller woman raised an eyebrow and snapped her fingers like she just remembered something. "Oh! That's right. Do you like them? Planted them myself. Thought you'd be impressed ya know?" It was a kind gesture Alphys had to admit but it reminded her too much of the experiments. It reminded her of the flower that got away. She still didn't know where it was or how it had escaped. Perhaps it developed a soul on its own? She wasn't really sure if that was it though but it was her best guess on the matter. "O-oh! That's very sweet of you to do that for me." Undyne knew of the mistake she did. Of the terrible things she's done to those monsters. So why would she take her back to that time? Suddenly the atmosphere shifted. It became serious. Undyne's face held a mask of.......well the scientist couldn't quite place the look. It made her scared though. Just a little because she knew that there was nothing to be afraid of when it came to the warrior. "Look Alphy, I know what they remind you of. I'm not an idiot. I didn't do that just to make you feel like trash because your not! I did it so that you can get over that stupid silly mistake and guess what? that's all it was. Just a mistake. Every monster here makes them. Even I do. More than once! So you shouldn't still feel bad because no one here blames you. They all thanked you for bringing them back with their families. And that flower that got away? Who knows? Maybe its dead or something. I haven't seen it or even know exactly what it is. It hasn't given us a problem. Maybe one of your experiments ate it. So don't worry alright?" Her voice became softer. "Keep your chin up Alphy. There's people who care about your well being." She hooked a finger under the dinosaur's chin and gave her a sincere smile. Alphys almost cried right then and there at her girlfriend's words. She was right. She always was. The monsters down here didn't care what she did in the past. What they cared about was that she apologized and did the right thing in the end without anyone's help. To them, she was their hero. Undyne leaned in close and whispered. "You're my hero." The words were caught in the scientist's mouth. She closed her eyes and smiled to herself. No one had ever called her that. When she opened them, she was met with a pair of lips against her own. They kissed passionately and held onto one another, keeping each other afloat.

(A/N: I'm detecting a pattern here! Lol)
