"Well that was fun! You were so kind to Monster Kid. Your amazing with your fans." Papyrus pulled his scarf closer to his face to hide the blush that started to form. Mettaton stayed silent, eyes downcast. He had been quiet since they left the child's home. The skeleton noticed this and cleared his throat. "So....what would you like to do? Anything you want. Just name it." Again there was nothing said from the robot. The only noise that was heard was the crunching of snow beneath their boots. He hadn't even looked up to acknowledge the question. Papyrus wasn't upset by it though. He was concerned for his boyfriend. He still couldn't believe that. The famous Mettaton, the underground's star was going out with him. Someone who he had never even heard of. Just another fan. He wondered why the wonderful machine agreed. He looked over at him again. "Are you alright?" His gloved hand reached for the other's. The skeleton expected something else when he made that move. A flinch, for him to pull away, a slap even. But to his surprise the celebrity squeezed his hand back and stopped moving, making Papyrus stop too. Mettaton finally looked up at the monster. His face held sadness. There was no sparkle in his eye anymore. Just a small frown. And that concerned him. "Can I ask you something?" He said in a whisper. This was not the star he knew. It made his heart drop and throat tighten. The only thing holding the skeleton in place was their hands clapsed together still. "Yes. Anything." He waited. "Alphys......she designed a new look for me. For fighting. It was called.....Mettaton Neo. And....I don't know. I just...I looked at it and wondered why she would make that sketch. I can fight in this form just fine so why make something like that? You should have seen it. It looked horrifying. You would have been afraid if you'd seen me like that. Every one of my fans would have. So I asked her why was this necessary but, she didn't give me an answer. I trust her and all but.....she just wouldn't tell me. It got me thinking. Maybe there's something that's coming? Something that can harm us all? Something that's too dangerous? My question for you is.....do you know what's coming? What's she's talking about?" Mettaton had moved closer to the monster during his speech. Teeth clenched and eyes pleading him. Their fingers dug in the other's palm. Papyrus could feel the robots breath against his face. Smelled like metal. He breathed it in before speaking. His heart dropped all the way to the pit of his stomach at the machine's words. He knew exactly what the issue was. How could he not? He was the cause for this. How could he tell Mettaton though? What if he looked at him differently because of this? But.....he knew that it was wrong to keep this from the star. He trusted him. He did. Alphys wanted for Papyrus to be the one to say it. He knew this. He had too. But he didn't blame her for anything. He was thankful. The truth needed to be spoken and it needed to be done by him. This secret was going on for too long. The skeleton took a deep breath and tugged Mettaton over to an empty spot, away from society. They were alone in the snow now. The celebrity rubbed his metal arms and waited. "I do know what's she's talking about. I'm sorry that she couldn't tell you but its with good reason. Listen, I have to be honest with you. But please don't think any less of me. Please don't." Papyrus squeezed his shoulders and frowned, looking deep in his eye. The robot swallowed and shook his head. "I-I won't." He was finally going to get an answer. "Please, sit." Both Monsters sat on two boulders, Mettaton preparing himself for the worst.
