Chapter 40

Mettaton touched his throat as he looked at himself in his old mirror. Alphys stood beside him, hand on his thigh as she watched closely. He took a deep breath and hesitantly swallowed, checking for any pain. Nothing. The robot smiled a little and did it again. No oil stopped him from doing so like before. His mother wagged her tail and stood on her tiptoes to get a better look. Mettaton cleared his throat and waited for the excruciating pain that usually followed. But there was nothing that came with it. When the dinosaur saw his happy reaction she couldn't help but clap her hands. "That's good! Now try talking. But only a few words so you don't strain yourself okay?" Her creation nodded eagerly and again cleared his passageway and again there was no slick black ink that stopped him from doing so. He looked away from the mirror and spoke softly. "I'm sorry for being such an asshole to you Mom." Alphys was surprised that he would pick that to be the first thing he would say. It made her laugh until tears fell down her face and she nearly fell over. She tried to quickly cover it up by placing her hand against her mouth as to not wake up Undyne from her slumber. Mettaton found her little laugh cute when the scientist started to snort. He didn't blame her for laughing either. "I-I'm sorry! I just......didn't expect you to say such a thing!" The dinosaur took a few breaths to calm herself and pat his metal thigh. "No baby. I'm sorry. Please don't blame yourself for this. I should have told you earlier. You derserve to know." The robot stopped her. "But I know now. Papyrus told me......I get why you didn't say anything. It wasn't your place to tell me. It was his." Alphys gave him a stern look but he quickly reasurred her. "No no! Don't worry darling. I didn't ask him to. He told me himself. But......he's a hero ya know? I could see how hard it was for him to talk about it. But from what I heard.....that human.....it was evil. Why would it want to hurt us monsters?" His mother frowned and bit her bottom lip. "I don't know. But its gone and I'm thankful that Papyrus g-got rid of it." Mettaton could tell that she didn't want to talk about the situation anymore so he decided to change the subject. "Thanks for fixing me. I wonder if Undyne will attack me when she wakes up knowing that I'd electrocuted her." Knowing how crazy the fish was he wouldn't have been the least bit surprised if she chose to. Alphys glanced at her girlfriend and shook her head. "No. She probably won't remember that." She turned back to her son. "What happened between you two?" The star sighed and pulled her to the floor with him. They sat across from one another, the scientist moving her tools aside that she went back to the lab for to pay attention to him. She really wanted to know why the both of them would harm each other the way that they did. It was something that she had feared since they met. But if she were being honest, it would have happened anyway. It was bound to. Mettaton ran his finger along the wooden floor and took a deep breath. "I couldn't stop thinking about how I treated you today. It wouldn't leave my mind even when I went on my date with Papyrus. I just swallowed the guilt the whole way through. I had to keep my mouth shut about it because Monster kid was so excited to see me. I couldn't let my fan down. Oh he's so adorable!" The star smiled at remembering the time that they played in the snow together. How happy he had made the child. It was his job as a celebrity afterall. Alphys giggled. Mettaton shook his head and went back to explaining the situation. "Anyway Papyrus ended up telling me about the human because he actually noticed how I was behaving. I was still upset about this morning." His mother reached over and squeezed his hand which was still missing a glove. He squeezed back as a strange tingling sensation ran through out his body. "I told him what happened between us. He looked like he knew something that I didn't. Finally he told me why you would design that other body for me. He told me everything. Oh Alphys you should have seen his face......I never want to see him look like that ever again." Papyrus was a sweet cinnamon roll that didn't deserve what he went through. He was too pure. Too precious. The dinosaur knew exactly what he meant. That happy skeleton had suffered with depression because of that human. That thing hurt her friend. She felt tugging at her hand, causing her to look down at it. Mettaton was trying to pull away from her suddenly strong grip. "Oh! Sorry." She carefully loosened it and gave out a nervous laugh. "What's the matter?" He asked. "I was just thinking about what he had to go through because of that." She whispered. Her son shifted on the floor and rubbed his exposed thumb along her scale-ly hand. The scientist sat still but her fingers twitched a bit at the action, meaning that she knew that he was trying to comfort her. "I told him that he's a hero like I said before. And he is." Alphys nodded in agreement. "He felt better after I told him that." The robot started to blush at remembering what they did after that. How Papyrus pratically threw himself at him. It was strange how the star didn't like it when Undyne played roughly with him for no reason but when the skeleton did it he didn't mind. Probably because it was a completely different situation. He still couldn't believe what they did. It was only their second date but he trusted him. He did. Thinking back on it started to make him a little horny. He could feel the sensation going through him. Those smooth boney fingers trailing along his legs, teeth biting and pulling at his bottom lip, their tongues exploring the other's mouth and their cocks pressed against one another's. Mettaton had closed his eye at imagining the scene. His free hand rubbing his glass contained heart slowly. "Wh-what are you doing?" He jumped at the familiar voice and stared at his dinosaur mother who was currently giving him a concerned look. Actually she kind of looked terrified. That made him turn red and overheat, making him quickly snatch his hand away from hers. "N-nothing! Um....anyway I went back home and uh on the way grabbed Blooky and Shyren to get ready for the show. You know how you always help us or wish me good luck?" She frowned but nodded. "I'm sorry." She quickly said before he went on. Mettaton smiled. "Don't be Ma. It's alright. I just really missed you and couldn't stop thinking about the way I treated you." She interrupted again. "But it wasn't right to not tell you about the new design!...... You deserved to know. Even just a little. I was being unfair to you. Please don't blame yourself for what happened this morning. I was no better." She crawled over to him and sat on his lap, wrapping her small arms around his metal body and resting her head on his chest plate. "Don't blame yourself baby." Her creation's heart started to race and for a minute he was afraid that she could hear it. He hugged her back tight. They both sat like that for a moment. The only noise that could be heard was Undyne's steady breathing. "Okay. I won't. But you don't either alright?" He whispered to her. He felt her nod. "Go ahead," She looked up at him. "Tell me the rest." Mettaton thought about where he left off and continued. "I was so upset and tried to hold it in but after doing that all day I just couldn't anymore. I completely broke down in front of Shyren and Blooky. They dropped everything they were doing and comforted me. They're so sweet those two." Alphys squeezed his metal arms. "You have people that really care about you ya know." He smiled at her again. "I know. So do you." He nudged her a bit, causing her to blush. "So I told them to go on without me tonight. I knew they'd do just fine by themselves. I left in search for you. I had to at least tell you that I was sorry. I needed to. By the way, where were you?" His mom played with his dial that didn't have any type of function to it. She seemed to be distracted. She shrugged. "The dump. I needed time to think so I left Undyne's and went there." The scientist looked her son right in the eye. "I couldn't stop thinking about this morning either. Even when I was with her. It kept creeping up in the back of my mind." Mettaton raised his knees and lifted her up so that she was in between his legs and chest. "Really? Wow......" His mom felt guilty too. They were more alike then they thought. "I assumed you were at Undyne's house. I kind of....kicked her door down and demanded her to let me see you but she told me you weren't there. I didn't believe her so I looked around. She didn't like that and started yelling at me about the things you told her." He noticed how Alphys' face changed. "Which I don't blame you for! Um.....she eventually pulled me away from the door and screamed in my face about.....things....." The dinosaur didn't need to be told what those things were. She had an idea. "I just wanted to find you so I pushed her away and left the house. That crazy lady chased after me. I tripped her and once she got the chance to, she attacked me. Choking me and holding me down so I couldn't fight back. I scratched her face to get her off. Had to take my gloves off to do so. That distracted her and I finally got her to stop. I had no idea what to do after that. She was out of control. Telling me how......awful I am." He watched as Alphys gasped and her eyes widen. She shook her head and opened her mouth to speak but he stopped her before she could with a finger to her lips. "Its fine. Its whatever and I needed someone to tell me that anyway." She made a small noise, telling him that she disagreed. Mettaton poked her snout and shrugged nonchalantly. "When she damaged my throat it sent a shock through me, electrocuting her by accident. I didn't want to hurt her, honest. She wasn't moving so I took her here and tried to help her but I didn't exactly know how. I tried the best I could. Oh and I left my phone at Papyrus' so that's why I called you on Undyne's phone instead." Alphys sighed and reached up to kiss his cheek. "You two are gonna be the death of me I swear. I'm just glad your both alright. We'll fix this issue." He nodded. "So let's do that right now then." Mother and son both jumped and turned to see Undyne sitting up on the robot's old bed. Her hair was in a disarray and her face to his surprise looked......upset. Sad almost. And the next thing that came out of her mouth shocked them. "Mettaton, I am so sorry."
