Chapter 6

"Hmmm. I've never seen this door here before." Undyne gasped. Was Alphys doing more experiments? No. No. She needed to get that out of her head right now. Alphys would never make the mistake of doing that again. The door was a hot pink that hurt her eyes so much that she had to squint. "Ugh. Papyrus how can you stand looking at this?.....oh. You don't have eyes." He nodded with a huge smile and stared at the bright door. "Wowie. It's so pretty!" He carefully touched in awe. Undyne shook her head and knocked. "I'm done with the surprises. Alphys? Alphys are ya in there?" The dinosaur could have sworn she heard her name being called out. She opened her eyes and looked around. The room she was in didn't seem familiar and that scared her for a second but she realized that she was the one to design it and calmed. "Right. This is Mettaton's room. Oh! Mettaton!" She looked to her right and saw him asleep still. He was curled up in a ball with the entire cover over himself, leaving Alphys with none. His dark hair covered his face. She suddenly remembered everything that happened yesterday and felt her heart flutter. "Alphys?! Alphys, I don't hear you so I'm breaking in! Papyrus move back so I can get this thing open." Papyrus? And was that Undyne's voice? Wait. They were going to break down the door! She quickly got out of the bed and ran towards it but stumbled over her tail and tripped with a thud. "Paps, did you hear that?"
"Yes. I wonder what it could be. Let us break down the door to find out!" There was a loud Crash and two bodies fell on top of each other and on something lumpy too. The noise woke the robot from his sleep and he carefully looked at the entrance to his new room. On the carpet, his beautiful carpet, was the fish that Alphys had a crush on, Alphys herself and.....the skeleton brother? He had forgotten his name and only saw him a couple times at his show. What in God's name were they doing? He sat up and stared at all of them but gasped when he saw his precious door knocked down. "Hey! What the hell is going on?!" Undyne looked at her surroundings and saw nothing but Pink. "Dear God." She whispered. "U-undyne? Papyrus?" What are you guys doing here?" The doctor lifted herself up and helped her friends to their feet. "We were coming to surprise you silly. Oh don't you look adorable in your pj's? What are you doing in this awful room?" Alphys blushed at being called cute. "HEY!!! GET OUT!" Both of the girls turned to look at the robot and then each other. He looked pissed. "Let's g-go talk o-outside of here. Maybe my lab?" The fish nodded and turned to her bestfriend. She had to contain herself from laughing. Papyrus' eye sockets were wide and his boney jaw stayed open as he stared at Mettaton. No wonder he hadn't said anything this whole time. She taped Alphys and pointed to the skeleton with a snicker. The dinosaur looked between him and her creation, making the connections in her head, while Mettaton gave Papyrus a strange look. Undyne leaned in the doctors ear. "Paps has a crush on your robot." Now she really couldn't contain her laughter. "Ahahahaha!!!" Alphys just thought that the skeleton was shocked to see his favorite celebrity in the same room as him. But apparently there was more to it than that. She coughed and adjusted her glasses that she picked up from the nightstand. "Well I think it's t-time to leave Mettaton be so he can get changed and I can tell you that I designed his room." Undyne quit her laughing to look at the small woman. She hadn't known that she made the room herself. And she had called it horrible. "Uh....okay. Yeah let's go." She turned to Papyrus who still had that stupid look on his face. "Yeah and take him with you." Mettaton pointed a metal finger at Papyrus. The fish shook her head and pratically dragged the skeleton out of the room. "My door!! Ugh!" The star got out of bed and lifted the broken thing from the ground. "Don't worry. I'll fix it." Alphys said as she was the last one out. She patted his thigh in comfort. He smiled at her.
