A/N

OK, so I'm re-publishing this update because I don't think anyone has seen it! I did update on Wednesday, though. I haven't missed a day yet and I'm not about to start when it's this close to the end.

"What would you say if I told you that I was to cook dinner tonight?"

"I would say, 'if you burn my house down, you're paying for it!' "

"Well, I'm cooking dinner tonight."

"If you burn my kitchen down, you're paying for it."

"Noted. Right, what do you want for dinner tonight?"

"You haven't planned what you're making?"

"I would have but then it occurred to me that I don't know what your favourite dish is. Please don't say it's French."

"No, it's not French."

"Thank God, because that would have been a disaster."

"My favourite is duck noodles in a hoisin and honey sauce."

"I think I can take that on."

"Why are you cooking?"

"Just because."

"Oh, God, what did you do?"

"What do you mean?"

"You're cooking. Did you do something that you know will piss me off? Did you chest on me? Did you get fired? Did you break that vase?"

"No, to all the above. Why do you find it hard to believe that I simply want to do something nice for you?"

"Because you're cooking and you don't cook."

"Ok, well there is something."

"Aha! What?"

"I may have, you know, invited your cousin to come and stay with us."

"Which cousin? Please say it's someone from the Irish side. Or if it's from the French side, please say it's Olivier."

"Keira."

"Who?"

"Keira. Echo?"

"Ah, her. Is that what I'm supposed to call her now?"

"She said as long as we don't call her 'Kilo.'"

"I give up with trying to keep up with her. When is she coming to stay?"

"She has a mid term break in a week and a half."

"And how long is she staying for?"

"A few days at most. I think the boyfriend is coming, too."

"Is my aunt Moira OK with that?"

"I think Moira will be glad to get her out of Dublin for a while."

"How come?"

"Keira took part in a protest in Dublin a few weeks ago and made the front page of the Dublin Times."

"What was she protesting this time?"

"Abortion laws in Ireland. More specifically, the fact that you can't access terminations in Ireland and women have to travel to the UK for that kind of thing."

"I imagine my grandmother had a fit over that. Yeah, ok, Keira can come and stay."

"Yeah?"

"Why not."

"Great. Excellent news. So, uh, do I still have to cook?"

"Mhm. At least two courses too. Time to put your chefs hat on, Gordon."

"Gordon?"

"Like Ramsey, just without the swearing."

"Ill have you know that I'm so much better than Gordon Ramsey."

"I'll be the judge of that. See you in a few hours."

"Ok. Love you, Soph."

"Love you, too, Daniel."
