Carly's POV
~5 weeks later~
Today is the day!! Today josh will get his MRI and X-ray on his rib cage. If his lungs and rib cage are all set they are going to discharge him today! he hasn't walked in 8 weeks and he is definitely ready to be more independent.
He is down to the cast on his leg and a light braise on his hand that he broke and the cast on his torso that will be removed today.
He is no longer on an oxygen 24/7 he only has to have it if he feels like it's getting hard to breath. he never had to have the second operation which was a relief for us all the operation could have killed him.
It took a while but he slowly healed. same with me I no longer have crutches or the neck braise. He was a little sad because he had to spend his 19th birthday in the hospital but we made it fun.
I'm on my way to the hospital now so I can be with josh while he has his MRI and X-ray. it's going to be a very strenuous day for josh. he is going from not really moving much for two months to being moved from bed to bed all day and potentially walking!
Michele Chris Conor Kayla and Xander are at the Hutchersons throwing a welcome home party for josh.
I get to the hospital at 10am Josh's MRI is scheduled for 10:30. I go into the hospital and go into Josh's room.
"Hey, babe" I say walking over to him and kissing him
"Hey, babe" he says
"You ready for today?" I ask
"I guess" he says
"Don't worry you'll do fine and tonight you'll be back home again" I say
"You know, staying here hasn't been that bad."
"Whys that?"
He takes my hand in his and says
"I've got to spend more time with you"
"We can spend even more time together next month" I say
"Why?"
"I turn 18 and I can leave the orphanage" I say happily
"That's great baby!"
The door opens and two nurses and dr. marks comes in.
"You ready josh?" dr. marks asks
"Ready as I'll ever be" josh says looking at me giving me a reassuring thumbs up
I move out of the way and the nurses go to work removing the cast on Josh's torso. I hear an occasional moan in pain from josh but after a few minutes the cast is off and the nurses start to roll Josh's bed to the MRI room. I hold Josh's hand as we go.
Josh's torso if fairly bruised but not terrible. and might I add his six pack is very attractive.
We get to the MRI room and the dreaded moment has arrived they have to switch josh to another bed as gently as possible.
The MRI machine is quite intimidating and I can tell josh is nervous so I give his hand a reassuring squeeze.
Dr. marks and 3 male nurses grab the four corners of the sheet josh is on and pick him up and transition him to the other bed. I move out of their way. I watch as they move josh
"1..2..3!" Dr marks says and on three they move him
"Aaahhh!" I hear josh say in pain as they lay him back down but they did it.
They go into a back room and josh and I stay in the MRI room.
After 10 minutes the MRI is over. they put josh back on his bed and we move to the X-ray room. again they move him to another bed. they take the X-ray. Then he is brought back to his room. we will get the results in a few minutes.
It's 11:47 now
"You did well babe" I say taking Josh's hand in mine
"Thanks. it feels good to have that dumb cast off" he says laughing a little
"Haha I bet"
The door opens and dr. marks walks in
"Well your going home Josh!" he says happily
Josh and I smile brightly at each other
"You'll just have to wear a back brace for a short while and use crutches, but besides that your free to go!" he says "I'll go get you a pair of crutches" he says and walks out
Josh and I put our hands on each other's faces and kiss passionately.
We here the door open and we pull apart
"Am I interrupting?" dr marks asks
"Haha no" I say to him
The doctor helps josh put on his back braise and shows him how to use the crutches. it takes josh a little while to get comfortable with crutches, but eventually we are ready to go. josh says thank you to some of the doctors and gives them a few autographs before we leave.
I'm just happy that josh is okay and is actually going home
Josh's POV
As Carley and I walk out of the building we are immediately surrounded by fans and paparazzi all asking me questions and saying my name. I decide I should answer a few questions to get them off my back. so I go to the news lady.
"Josh, josh can I ask you some questions?" she asks
"Of course" I say
"When do you think you'll start acting again?"
"As soon as possible hopefully"
"And who is your girlfriend?"
I look over at Carly and motion for her to come over and she does so the camera can see her.
"This my girlfriend Carly" I say proud
"How long have you two bee dating?"
"Almost three months" Carly says
"Well, good luck to you two, thank you josh"
"No problem"
We push through the crowd and a taxi takes us to my house. when we get there there are a bunch of cars parked outside of my house
"Who is here?" I ask Carly as we walk up the front path to the door
"Umm I don't know" she says smiling
I walk in the front door to see a bunch of my friends and family here
"Welcome home josh!" they all yell
I look over to Carly "yah you didn't know" I say smiling at her
"Hey what can I say" she says shrugging
"Thanks Carly" I say kissing her
"Your welcome Josh" she says smiling at me
