While warming up you looked at the bread.

Oikawa was pretty upset back when they said it was for girls only, maybe he likes that kind of treat?

That Iwaizumi won over him seemed to bother him too.

Maybe a bread would cheer him up. He seemed to like Milk bread but from the starting line you couldn't tell them apart.

So you'd have to settle with one and if it's wrong maybe exchange with someone else's.

Until she spoke you haven't noticed that she even stood next to you - the leader of the king's fanclub.

"Now why don't we compete? Whoever wins is allowed to ask him out on a date. You know who."

"Why would I want to go on a date with him. I'm not his fangirl."

"You say that but are you fine with me going out with him?"

"No way."

"Heh~ is that so? Then what reason do you have?"

You didn't know, you couldn't answer, but you didn't need to. A teacher was already about to give the start signal.

You made yourself ready. Concentrate. You would win against that shrimp.

When the signal fired everyone ran. Lily shrimp was already ahead of you but when it came to reach the bread she was at a disadvantage.

10 steps away from the bread.
Increase speed to max.
0 step away, jump up and spin 180 degree, bite the bread.
1 foot back on the ground, turn in the direction of the goal.
2nd foot back on the ground, dash.

Apparently when you jumped off the ground there was a loud noise, your landing was soft in contrast.

Cheers started to celebrate for you, the first girl that caught the bread.

But the shrimp now too managed to catch it and rapidly got closer.

Only a few steps more to the finish line, she's close to catch up.

You gave your all trying to get faster but you couldn't, there was barely any strength left.

With the last of your energy you made a final leap into the goal, landing head first.

Iwaizumi was already there to pick you up. You expected him to scold you for recklessly jumping into the goal but instead...

"Congratulations."

You looked at him puzzled not yet realising his words.

Exhausted you sank to the ground again, still panting just like the shrimp.

"You haven't told me yet..." she said in between her breaths. "Why would you mind it if I would ask him out in a date?"

"I just do. Probably because it'd be annoying if you would hang out with us all the time."

"Oh sweety, I'd hang out with him alone."

It stung. But there was no time to dwell and your ways parted.
