CHAPTER 10
————————-
SCARED OF SOKOVIA

To be completely honest, Sydney put on the mask that she was okay with going back to Sokovia... she wasn't okay with it.
She didn't want to admit that fear ran through her body.
Scared of Sokovia and scared of what Ultron would do. All the horrors that happened to her in Sokovia and the promises of Ultron hurting everyone she loved plagued her mind...

Yet, she had to go. She couldn't let her brother down... she couldn't let the team down.
She already told her brother she'd be okay... even though she didn't feel that way..
But she knew she could do it. She'd done things  she didn't want to do in the past, and she could do it now.

The Barton siblings loaded onto the ship, ahead of everyone, getting ready for take off.

This was it.

It was time.
Time to stop some killer robot from destroying the world.

Sounded like a dream.. no, more like a nightmare.
A nightmare Sydney couldn't seem to escape.

Shit just kept getting worse and worse.

Clint passed Sydney an earpiece, prepping her for battle. He knew how bad things were getting and didn't want to loose Sydney again. He'd do anything to keep her safe-even give his own life for her.
She assured him multiple times that she'd be okay. (despite her not feeling that way)
She could defend herself- he could back away.

"Clint?" She mumbled to him as he readied the ship for take off.

"Yes?" He turned around to Sydney who was resting her chin on the arm of the chair.

"Is it... is it bad... to be scared?"

"Bad?" Clint pondered for a moment. Most felt this way during their first mission. He shook his head, "no."

"No? why do I... I feel all bleh?"

"Bleh? What do you mean?"

"um.." she whispered unsure of how to answer. Her heart beat a million miles an hour, her brain pounded against her skull, she believed it would kill her how stressed she felt.

"are you nervous?"

She nodded her head, bitting her lip, scared she might cry. She couldn't cry.
Avengers don't cry.
Soldiers don't cry.
Therefore, she believed she shouldn't cry.

She was scared.

"Sydney, come here."

Sydney shuffled to Clint, burring her head in his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her, keeping her close.
"You said you were okay..."
