CHAPTER 12
——————————————-
WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHERThe best duo was here to kick some ass.
The two Barton siblings bounced off each other like they'd done this every day of their lives. They multitasked by trying to hid civilians and destroy the robots at the same time.
Sydney escorted the citizens into a building while Clint stood guard, shooting down any robot that got near. (Sydney would assist him with the robot take down any chance she got)It was tough work but someone had to do the job.
And Sydney stepped up to that plate.Clint was quite proud of what his sister had become in just a span of days: she went from a quiet, scared girl unsure of her surroundings to a strong hero.
You could say that she had developed into a completely different person. Her old self was slowly returning
and that couldn't make Clint happier. The battle only for more intense.
The city was rising higher and higher into the air. It seemed like the team didn't have much of a plan so far... but their main goal was keep the citizens safe, and then defeat Ultron. (they were still on the first part)
In a rubbled building, the Bartons stood vigil, keeping watch for any stray robot.
Sydney wiped the blood from her nose as she stood leaning against the wall. She wasn't paying much attention to the outside, but to the people on the inside.
Those poor people...
Many had faces of pure fear and terror.
They only wanted to live their lives but here they were... their homes were no more.
It was then that Sydney realized—these people had no way out.Sure, the team was keeping them safe from the battle, but what would happen after that? How would they get away from the flying city?
Sydney wanted answers.
She trudged over to her brother, opposite of her. He was actually paying attention to what was happening outside.
She softly tapped his arm, waiting for him to look at her."Hmm?"
"The people."
Clint's head faced toward hundred or so people crowded into the small building. His face scrunched in confusion.. nothing appeared to be wrong.
"What about them?""Their safety."
"We're keeping them as safe as possible, Syd."
"No... they'll die here, won't they?" She mumbled, fiddling with her jacket sleeves.
She didn't want people to die... "Ultron'll... they'll... he'll—" She took a deep breath before lowering her voice, "they'll die.."
