CHAPTER 18

VOID VISIT TO THE TEAMThat morning, Sydney lied on her bed, facing up at the ceiling, contemplating. She could barely sleep through the rest of the night after her little... nightmare incident. The sun wasn't even shining through her window... Hell.. it wasn't even close to rising yet. The sky still was in darkness.
Sydney rubbed her eyes multiple times, knowing that they were still red from crying, trying to 'wake' herself up. She slowly rose to her feet, remembering her conversation with Clint the night before... they were going to talk this morning... with waffles.
A part of her didn't want to talk to him. He wouldn't listen. He tried to... but then he's just ignore what she wanted to say.
But she also wanted to. She'd feel worse... like a bad person... if she didn't speak to him... speak to him about her thoughts and feelings. (even if he didn't want to listen to all of them) She knew it would be good to get some things off her chest to her brother.Sydney slowly peeked out of her room, hearing no noise from downstairs. She snuck down the steps as quiet as possible (just like an assassin) only to see her brother cooking in front of the stove. 'He remembered.' She thought, a smile growing on her face, 'he remembered this promise.'
Her smile fell immediately, remembering that she was supposed to be upset with him. She didn't want to still be upset with Clint... she loved her brother... he just... angered her much more often now.
She must've been staring for too long because not long after, Clint jerked his head up and noticed the girl standing at the top of the steps."Morning." Clint greeted his sister with a small smile. The girl waved at her brother, going down the rest of the steps. The smell of waffles hit Sydney's nose almost immediately.
A tiny smile rose on her face as she watched her brother cooking the waffles.
"You're awake..." she mumbled, fiddling with her long sleeve shirt."Always up this early, Syd." Clint said, slowly sipping his coffee straight from the container. Sydney only rolled her eyes at the action.
"You... you usually aren't up at this time." Sydney pointed to the clock. The girl was right. The clock just struck 5 AM and everyone in the house was usually awake at 7.
"Neither are you." Clint responded.
"Well.. but.." Sydney muttered, rubbing her eyes, trying to figure out what else to say, "But you and Laura are up.. at same time.. usually."
"Well I exercised and practiced my shooting and some golf-"
"It's 5 AM." The girl repeated.
