~Roses~

Irene's P.O.V.

Another bothering day for me. I still don't know what running inside Slater's mind, but I do clearly know that Jared might be helping him in planning all the gifts and surprise events he's planning for me. Jasper might have sensed my sudden change of mood when he's beside me so he's also telling me to understand what's happening here. He keeps on telling me that I need to understand why Slater is acting like that, that he suddenly turned into a boys who almost wanted to have everything he wants after mourning for the death of his loved one.

And now, here we are walking towards my classroom. For sure Slater would be there because he's my classmate, Wendy and Jade just wanted to make sure that I would be safe and happy once I saw Slater. I was really having a hard time copping up with my studies because all the things that kept on floating in my mind is his problem which involves me. I immediately stopped walking inside my classroom when I saw all my classmates are staring at me in awe and amazement, I was troubled by the fact that they know something about me.

Then my attention shifted to my table and I saw something very surprising. There were no letters, roses nor chocolates scattered on my desk for today, I was actually glad because I know that they're not spending their money for buying unecessary things for me, and plus I wouldn't need to carry a lot of things today.  I shrugged everything off and sat on my assigned seat, then I instantly stared at the desk beside me, Slater wasn't here. I was relieved that he wasn't here for today because that would make me really uncomfortable, but at the same time, I feel worried for him. Is he somehow sick again? Or will he suddenly cross the street again? Oh no, I wish nothing bad could happen to him.

But then I narrowed my eyes, he's not serious about courting me right? Because if he really is serious, where is he now? Where is he when he told me that he needs me to be with him? I was looking down on my fingers as I suddenly feel like i'm getting down all of a sudden, he told me that he need me but where is he? Was he just lying or he's just telling me that because he wants to tell me that he could already move on? I stopped thinking about those things when I noticed someone watching me, I looked at my right and saw Slater smiling at me. I thought he wasn't here?

He didn't say anything but he just gave me a smile so I looked at the things he's carrying and gasped silently when I noticed all the roses and chocolates on a box, the roses were all white, my favorite one. I was wondering how he knows everything I loved, because I know he's not that interested in m the last time he talked to me before he suddenly got into a depressing state. I looked at the one's behind him and gasped when I was the whole basketball team and even my brother, Jared smiling at me. He's got to be kidding me. He was the one who spilled everything to Slater, that's why he bought all the things I loved. I looked at my classmate and saw them smiling at me, for sure Slater and Jared told them to just go along as planned. 

"What is this?" I asked Slater as I stood up from my seat and looked at him wearily, Jared knows what i'm going to do so he just stared at me and shooked his head. I need to do this because Slater would just have a hard time letting himself believe that he really likes me but in fact he doesn't.

"A gift" He answered, I know it is a gift but I don't know why he's doing this. He's obviously making my head hurt because of this fuss he's making, I couldn't blame him because it was me who stayed on his side while he was still in a miserable state. So he must've misunderstood things.

"Mino-"  

"I'm not going to stop Irene, if you're not comfortable then don't be. I don't need you to be comfortable around me, I just want you to know my presence, that I'm here if ever you needed someone with you"  I stopped talking when he started to talk, I know he wants to explain everything to me so I just decided to listen to him. Maybe, just maybe, I could understand why he's doing this.

"I'm not seeing my past girlfriend in you, 4 months had passed and Heather had died. In this world her name might be erased but in my heart she'll always be there."  Exactly my point, he has a girlfriend who just recently died and yet he wanted to court me. He was miserable but when I came in his life, he started to change. He suddenly wants to get closer to me.

"That's my point, how can you-"  

"But today, I finally understood everything. Heather is gone but I know she wanted me to make on and find a better girl, and that girl might be you"
