~Meeting His Past~

Irene's P.O.V.

I woke up early in the morning, 8 to be exact, and quickly went to the bathroom to wash. I'm planning to walk around Han River today because I've been stressed lately and I have a very huge headache last night, I just took a pain reliever and I'm glad that it worked. I wanted to breathe some fresh air before even going out with Slater so I wouldn't feel very restless and my mind wouldn't hurt much later.

Once I'm done, I changed into my knee length summer yellow dress and went to the living room, but when I got down, numerous teasings made me question everyone.

"Seems like the Princess is waiting for her Prince Charming to come" Wendy chuckled as she lied down on the couch while reading a book, I stopped walking on the stairs and looked at everyone who has teasing smiles on their face.

"What are you talking about?"

"So you don't know anything? About Slater waiting for you again?" Mom asked amused while I, ofcourse is much more shocked.

"He's here?" Wendy and Jade laughed at my surprised expression.

"I believe he wants to take you out, he's been waiting outside for half an hour now" Dad added while I then hastily went outside to meet Slater.

"Are you going to go somewhere by the way? Why are you dressed?" Mom asked but I didn't answer her and just went out right away, when I opened the door, I instantly saw Slater walking around in circles as he waited for me beside his car.

"Oh? Are you going somewhere? I want to take you to a place in my past" He said just when he saw me walking towards him, I wrapped my arms around him and rested my head on his chest.

"Then take me there, I wouldn't mind spending some time with you" Slater smiled and placed a kiss on my forehead, sometimes I'm getting a bit disrespectful when I'm with Slater because I forgot to greet my parents good morning and then I didn't even tell them that I'll be going out with Slater today. I even forgot to have breakfast with them.

"You are strangely acting very weird today, is there something wrong?" I asked, because I noticed throught the whole ride, he's been really quiet which made me feel very confused and also intrigued. It seems like he's acting a bit nervous but he doesn't want to let it show, I held his hand that was placed on the manuver and stared at him in curiosity.

"I decided to be and open minded person today, I want you to know me more than you ever do. I want to be completely honest with you Irene" Slater held my hand this time and planted a kiss on the back of my hand, somehow I knew he's going to reveal something shocking today but I wouldn't bug him and just go with the flow. Until a few minutes, Slater stopped infront of a flower shop.

"Flowers? We're buying flowers?" I asked as I took my seat belt off and walked with him inside the shop, there were many flowers placed on each shelf and the aromatic smell welcomed us.

"This person must be really important to you that we're even buying flowers for him" I spoke as I went around to look for a beautiful flower.

"The person I'm letting you to meet is very fond of flowers" He added, I nod my head and proceeded to look for the roses and lilies. Once we're done, Slater told me to hold the flowers first and wait for our next destination. I think I probably fell a bit asleep but I instantly woke up when I heard Slater's voice.

"We're here" I opened my eyes only to see Slater looking down and smiling at me, I looked around and noticed that we're in a cementery, I looked at Slater in confusion.

"Slater, What are we doing here?"

"I thought that you should meet her atleast" I followed Slater until we stopped walking infront of a tomb, he placed the flowers down and smiled.

"Heather Yoon" I uttered her name, it was a very beautiful name, I liked it and once in my life, I wanted to meet someone like her who made Slater a man he is today.

"It was my fault why she died, I told her to do the operation. Heather and I dated for atleast 2 years, no one knew that except from my mom. Heather was a very beautiful lady and a very reserved one like you, she wasn't an heir but I immediately fell for her" Slater's hand clasped mine as he continued to tell Heather's story.

"We had a relationship for 2 years but then we discovered that she has a brain tumor and it's already severe, she refused to be treated not because of the medical bills" I stared at Slater as he said those words carefully, I know how hard it is for him to be placed in a situation like that. And of course for Heather, who I know loved Slater with all her heart but was given an ailment like that.

"She knew that there would be no hope for her to get cured, but I insisted and told her to undergo the operation" Just then, I knew Slater blamed himself for the death of Heather, he became broken because he kept on blaming himself. He loved Heather so much to the point that he'll even follow her to heaven, I then realized that he's someone very loving and kind.

"But instead of her being saved, I let her life cut short because of my greediness to have her by my side" A tear slowly went down on his face as I rested my head on his shoulder, I tightened the grip on his hand as I stared at Heather's grave once again.

"You didn't do anything wrong, you just want her to get cured. It's understandable" And I understand now that I met Slater because of Heather, she sent me to help Slater live again and not to let himself completely die together with her.
