Why Me??

Arii POV

"Hello Arii.. Is this your husband?" Doctor Williams asked me before washing his hands and putting on gloves to check my pulse.

"No, He's my boyfriend." I said back dryly. I was feeling really tired and droopy. Almost as if I was being sucked dry. Rajae looked at me with sadness and curiosity in his eyes. It hurt me to see him like that.

"Well we have good news and bad news.. Which would you like first?" He asked. "Good." I said.

"Well, the good news is your 2 weeks pregnant. the bad news is your health is slowly starting to decrease. I don't think there's a chance the baby will make it." He said.

My eyes started to water as tears rolled down my cheeks. I couldn't believe this was happening to me! I'm gonna lose my baby.

Rajae looked up with anger in his eyes.

"Well what we gotta do to make sure the baby is ok?" He asked.

The doctor hesitated before taking a long sigh and finally saying, "I'm sorry but there's nothing you can do. The cancer is to strong for the baby and it's eating up the nutrients that's supposed to go to the baby. The only option left is an abortion.

"NO!" I shouted. "I'm not giving up my baby!"

"Im sorry Ms. Johnson but if you don't the baby will die inside of you and I would hate for any women to have to go through that." He said softly patting my leg.

"Babe.... It's the only way..."

"You agree with him?!" I yelled.

"Look, I want that baby just as much as you do but your not healthy. Just do it for me and when your better we can try again ok?"

"Im never gonna get better Rajae I have CANCER.. Im gonna DIE!" I yelled tears rolling down my face.

"Please." He said looking hurt.

"Fine." I mumbled.

"I'll be back with the tools. I'm very sorry" And with that he left.

The room was silent. I stared at the wall and silently cried.

"Babe." Rajae said.

"Arii.." I ignored him.

A few minutes later the doctor walked in with a long curvy looking tool.

"Rajae if you wanna leave...." I started.

"No I'm stayin'" He said.

"Well let's get started. Arii I'm gonna have you lay back and open your legs for me."

I did as he said. I slowly slid my panties off and dropped them on the floor. Once I leaned back I started to cry.

"It'll be over before you know it." The Doctor said.

"Baby just relax." Rajae said grabbing my hand.

I closed my eyes and whispered 'I'm sorry' as I felt a sharp pain between my legs.

My baby was gone...
