Ok. Zane is making an appearance and is going to meet Rikki. By the way, anybody loving this song? It's my new feel good jam. And I really need those this close to election day, cause meds just aren't cutting it anymore.

Rikki took at deep breath. "Where did Zane say he would meet?"

"Well that's the problem actually. He can't get too far away from town without the police tagging along. So he said to meet him behind the rocks."

Rikki nodded. The rocks was their special place, and also the place where the babies were first made. It was just a private jumble of boulders forming a sort of cave on the beach. Nobody would be looking for them there.

"Thanks Lewis." Rikki gave him a grateful smile. He had been acting as their messenger to Zane, and the one leading the police on false trails.

"No problem. Now, I've got to umm... go see Cleo. Yeah." Lewis walked away awkwardly.

Emma swam up from the moon pool, and rested her head on the rocks. "I think he and Cleo are up to something."

Rikki turned to face her. "Like what?"

Emma giggled slightly. "Isn't it obvious? I just hope they're being safe."

"You think they're... you know?"

Emma nodded. " Definately. Now why don't we give the lovebirds some space? Besides. don't you have to meet with Zane soon?"

Rikki crawled into the water and sped away with Emma on her tail. Emma left her near the coast, telling Rikki to be careful.

Anxious, Rikki peeked above the water making sure the coast was clear. She then dragged herself onto the sand, minding her stomach, and dried off. Her hair turned short again, instead of the curly red- streaked locks she had as a mermaid.

She had conveniently pulled up close to the cave so that she couldn't have to walk far. Traveling was becoming increasingly difficult, even though she wasn't quite three months yet.

There in front of her, was the cave. And Zane was in it.

He gasped, and ran out of the cave, wrapping his arms around Rikki's waist.

"It's true." he whispered, pulling back. He lay a hand on Rikki's stomach.

"I'm sorry." Rikki cried. "I was just so scared to tell you and I-"

Zane kissed her, effectively shutting her up.

They stayed that way for a long long time.

The expecting couple sat hand in hand in their cave. Rikki's head was on Zane's shoulder.

"Just one right?" Zane joked.

"Three actually." Rikki said bluntly.

Zane jumped. "Triplets!"

"Uh huh." They were both sitting upright now.

Zane's grin somehow managed to find a way to get bigger.

"Triplets." he whispered, kissing Rikki's belly three times. One for each baby.

Rikki told him everything about the babies. How she could feel them wiggle around at night, and that they each had there own little spot that they had claimed. Zane was a little disappointed that the genders were still unknown, but understood that there was nothing that could be done since they had tails.

"Little mermaid babies?" he had asked when he found out about the tails.

"Or mermen." Rikki reminded him. "There's no telling at this point."

"I bet they're all girls."

Rikki raised an eyebrow. "No, there's definately a boy in here."

"And how can you tell?" Zane challenged.

"Have you ever heard of a thing called mothers instinct?"

Zane pouted, causing Rikki to laugh. She had really missed him.

"By the way, I'm loving the new hair." Zane said, kissing her.

"Mmmm."

They snuggled closer and cuddled in each others arms. Neither returned home that night, too comfortable in each others arms to move.
