Thomas looked into the monitor screen. Everything was going as smoothly as ever. It felt good for a change to not see anyone die in the Glade. Usually there were only one or two causalities in a week, if any runner was left outside the walls and killed by grievers. Other than that, everything ran smoothly.

Thomas was tired that day, he had enough of looking at the screen. He looked up.

Teresa.

She was everything for him.

The one and only thing that he really cared about.

Love was a strange thing for him. It happened all too quickly and he didn't even realize it.

The next thing he knew was that he was in love with Teresa.

And she didn't even know about it.

He was dying to tell her. But then he was scared as well.

He didn't know if she loved him. She never showed it.

But he did. Her eyes, her voice...everything.

If there was anything he wanted most in the world, it was her.

Only Teresa.

She looked at him and smiled.

That smile took his breath away and he tried to control himself.

He would die for her.

That's how much he loved her. He wanted it to scream to her.

I love you so much that I would not think twice before dying for you. He thought.

Her head jerked up and she looked at him, eyes wide.

Then he remembered, they could talk telepathically. He was so stupid. Now she knew.

He felt embarrassed, but then she smiled again and he relaxed.

She looked him in the eyes and said: "I would give my life for you too, Tom"
