TWO MONTHS LATER

It seemed as if such a long time had passed since they started their new life. There was no denying that it was hard but that was what life was all about: going through the hard parts so that there would be light on the other side of the sky.

The Paradise was like a dream for everyone. It had been really hard for them to try to get over Minho's death and they couldn't in the end.

Now they had learned to live with it.

Since that day Teresa had not spoken a word to Thomas and, apart from the occasional times when they stumbled upon each other, she kept her distance. After all he had made her suffer for so long.

She needed time to think.

Thomas, on the other side was desperate to talk to her.

He was sorry for everything that had happened to them.

He was sorry for losing Minho.

He was sorry for losing Teresa.

He hated himself to be so weak and let WICKED control him so easily.

He tried everything to get at least close to her but she always ran away from him. It was hard to see her slip away like this each day.

And there was nothing he could do to stop it.

************************************

When they had stepped into the Paradise at first they were surprised to see the grass so green and the sky so blue but still they didn't celebrate.

It was happy that they had made it but greater was the loss.

Loss of their friends and their real world.

Teresa had spoken quietly and ordered that the Flat Trans they came through would be maintained. She locked the small wooden building in which it was located.

Thomas and Newt knew why she wanted to leave it.

She still thought there was hope.

Since that day they had led their lives in that greenery. They had plenty of water due to a river that was located nearby and there was plenty of food as the former Gladers had taken on their jobs again.

Newt was now the first in command and everyone had asked Teresa to be the second in command. She had refused at first, but then she accepted knowing that it would take her mind off things.

They built the society again. It took time but they were making it a better world.

So life went on quietly as everyone finally found that little happiness they all were wishing for all along.
