CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX

Teresa's mind buzzed as she remembered. Doctor Ava Paige a long time ago had said something about a Paradise.

Minho looked at her "do you know anything?" he asked kindly.

"Yes" Teresa said "I remember that name from somewhere but I don't know where."
Newt's eyes were still glowing "We found a letter." Newt said "It was on the floor and it probably fell when that bloody explosions happened"

"Fell? But how could it have fallen from anywhere?" Minho asks.

Newt looked at Teresa's jumper. At its pockets.

"It fell from Teresa's jumper pocket." he said "I saw it with my own eyes."

That would not make any sense but Teresa and Minho believed him.

"So what does this letter say?" Teresa asked.

"Well, it bloody is our salvation," Newt said "It says that we need to go to this room, and it gives instructions for that, and that there is a flat-trans thing which will lead us to a place uncontaminated and free from this bloody WICKED dudes and the cranks. And it is signed by a certain Ava Paige."

As soon as she heard the name Ava Paige, Teresa dared to hope.

She couldn't remember her clearly but she knew that she didn't want them dead. She would have helped them.

She decided to trust the note for now. It was their only hope beside getting killed.

Thomas got to his feet slowly. His face was red but he wasn't bleeding seriously. He finally was himself again.

He had changed and he didn't feel anyone controlling him. His mind felt clearer too.

And suddenly he remembered...he promise he had made to Teresa.

The promise he had made her to not hate her after he betrayed him. It was all an act. A test that he himself had created in the first place. 

He remembered everything.

Thomas looked at Teresa. She understood.

His eyes were clear now. Not darkened by WICKED controlling him.

She advanced towards him and looked into his eyes. Finally he was him again.

She hugged him tight.

And he hugged her even tighter.

Finally Thomas was back.
