Prologue
"Gone, she's gone
How do you feel about it
That's what I thought
You're real torn up about it"
The only sounds I could hear, were my thumping heart and the steady footfalls that approached the wooden door of my bedroom.
Glancing around quickly I note that everything is exactly as it has always been, down to the clothes that hang in the ornately carved wooden armoire.
I flinch slightly when the knob to my bedroom suddenly turns slowly toward the floor, before it swung open lazily. I could feel my chest tightening and my heart beat began to thump in my ears and the blood was rushing throughout my body.
I was terrified, and if I knew that, then so did he.
"Ah, I see you've settled in nicely" he spoke with a smirk that turned my stomach painfully. I swallowed my fear and let my eyes harden as I meet his gaze refusing to back down or cower as I once did.
"Hm, I see you have grown a back bone since the last time you were here, hummingbird" the sinister look he gives me sends chills through my body, the hair on the back of my neck stood on end.
"That is nothing that cannot be modified"
