We Belong

Legend had been home for almost two months and Liberty still wasn't able to leave. She's getting better they say but they still won't let her leave.

I looked at her and smiled. Today I was actually gonna be able to hold her which was better than nothing.

"Ready?" The nurse said picking her up amd I nodded smiling hard. She handed her to me leaving out the room.

"Hey baby girl." I said in a half whisper. She yawned and looked at me smiling. She was so pretty and looked just like Legend.

I wish Chris would've came with me but he insisted on staying home with Legend. I've been noticing every time I asked him to come with me to see Liberty he makes up an excuse and it's starting to piss me off.

Why wouldn't he want to see his daughter? He was good with Legend I never have a problem with him helping me out with him. But Liberty, it's like he forgets or wants to.

I stayed at the hospital with her for another hour before getting ready to head home. But before I did I had to make one other stop. After seeing Tasha and Jacob when I left the hospital with Legend I kinda needed answers.

I mean what made her come because after all she had said and did I thought she hated me and then all of a sudden she was so nice. She even brought a lot of stuff for the twins.

I pulled into their driveway and dat there for a few seconds contemplating on leaving. If I left I knew I wasn't gonna come back so I had to at least try. I killed the engine and got out going up to their door.

I knocked on it twice and moments later Tasha stood there in front of me. When she saw that it was me she looked shocked but let me inside anyway.

"Hey, what brings you by?" She said sitting on the couch while I continued to stand.

"I wanted to talk to you, when you came over last month you were so nice and acted differently but when I stayed here you were completely different." I said and she let out a breath.

"Look its more to it than what you think, Mark wasn't only putting his hands on you. He hit me too. He didnt only take your money he took mine too as you can see he's no longer here anymore." She said and for some reason I was shocked as hell.

I never seen signs of her being beat and I never seen a scratch on her.

"I can't change what I did but I do apologize for it. I should've done better by you and I didn't but after you left and I realized you wasn't coming back I knew I had to get myself together. Our divorce will be finalized in a month." She continued and I remained quiet taking in everything she was telling me.

I mean what if she is telling the truth, am o supposed to forget it and move on? Or do I walk out and never look back?

"Where is he now?" I spoke softly almost as if it was illegal to talk.

"Who knows. He only calls me to talk to Jacob. Other then that we don't speak." She shrugged and I nodded awkwardly. I didn't know what to say.

"Well, how is the mother life?" She asked changing the subject I put a small smile on my face.

"I love it, Legend has been home for a month and today was my first time holding Liberty. She still won't be home for a while." I said and she smiled.

"Can I see Legend again? He looked just like the dad, Chris right?" I nodded smiling a little harder.

"Yea they look just a like."

"Does he help with the baby?" I nodded yawning a little.

"Oh yea, he's always helping I thought it would be the opposite." She laughed sitting back on the couch. I spent an hour with her laughing and talking about what's been happening with me then decided it was time for me to go home.

I pulled out her driveway and she watched as I left. I loved this new Tasha. She wasn't a bitch and she wasn't bitter. She looked way prettier too.

I made it home and Chris and Legend were asleep on the living room couch. I smiled giving both of them on the cheek going into our bedroom. I changed into something to comfortable and put in my headphones starting to clean up. Between taking care of Legend and making sure I visited Liberty daily I barely had time to clean which needed to be changed.

It took me about an hour to clean the house and once I finished I made something for us to eat and put Chris' plate in the microwave since he was still sleeping. I ate my food and laid on the loveseat falling asleep myself.
