Chris,

The apartment got silent besides the cries from the twins. Mark's lifeless body laid in front of us and Jacob had woken up and was now staring with tears in his eyes.

"Oh my god! He's dead!" Lani panicked pacing the room. Jacob began crying along with the twins and I stood there unable to move. What did I do? I'm headed back into what I tried leaving behind. My kids were here!

"Okay ma you gotta calm down. Get the kids dressed, pack some clothes. Now!" I yelled picking up my phone to call an ambulance. After I got off the phone with them I helped Lani pack a couple bags.

The police would want to search the house and I knew her and the kids wouldn't be able to stay here for a while.

"The twins dressed yet?" I said putting on Jacobs shoes. She soon came out with them both fully dressed in her arms and sat them on the couch.

"Yea, Libby needs her bottle and I can't find it." I smacked my lips.

"She has more than one bottle Lani find one." I wasn't really in the mood to be getting delayed over a bottle. Once the ambulance and police showed up I was gonna be taken into custody shit they would probably take Lani too.

"Police open up!" They said banging on the door unnecessarily. I opened it and they barged in with guns and shit.

"Aye can y'all put that shit away my kids right here." Lani said but hey ignored her. They looked around and when they spotted the body they made me and Lani get against the wall and the twins started to cry again.

"Any of you want to tell us what happened here?" Some fat ass man said but it was clear he was referring to Lani.

"Um yea, my mom passed earlier today so I was heading out to see her body at the hospital and before I got to my car he showed up and held a gun on me." While Lani spoke to the fat man a blonde haired lady wrote down everything she said.

"Okay so how did you end up in here from the parking lot?" The man questioned. I was listening to them closely but the whole time my eyes were on the kids. I wanted to make sure they didn't touch them.

"Well he wanted Jacob. My little brother who I have custody of. He didn't know Chris was here so when he got inside he held me at gun point and told Chris what to do." I took my eyes off the kids and focused on the officer. He didn't seem to believe her story.

"Your story isn't adding up. If he was the one with the gun how did he get shot?" He asked and Lani mugged him.

"Let me get to that part then..anyways he told Chris to take the twins in the back and bring Jacob out here. Chris did that and Mark told him to get against the wall. When Mark went over to tie him up Chris attacked and they started fighting over the gun causing it to go off." Lani explained while the blonde bitch continued to write shit down.

"Okay well we know its late and these babies should be sleeping but we're gonna have to take both of you in for questioning." The lady said looking from me to Lani.

"Aye my kids with us let Lani take them hike for the night and first thing in the morning she'll be up to the police station. I'll come with you tonight." Last thing I needed was for them to he yelling at Lani all night.

The man looked as if he was debating with his self in his head then he finally nodded.

"Alright. Tomorrow morning no later than 10, I want you there if I have to come find you its not gonna look good." He told her and she nodded giving me a quick peck before her and the female officer left to put the kids in the car.

"You sir, can turn back around and out your hands up against the wall." I sighed and did what he said so he could out the cuffs on me. He led me past Marks body where the paramedics where handling him and out of Lani's apartment to the police car.

I watched Lani pull off and soon the two officers were in the car heading us to the station. I could only hope shit went smoothly.
