Lani,

I made it to the hospital and went to the front desk asking for Tasha's room number. After they gave it to me I wasted no time in finding it.

"Hey." I said poking my head in. She had IV needles in her arms and looked like she would passed out and any moment.

"Hey, thanks for coming." She mumbled. Her voice sounded dry. I looked over at Jacob who was sleeping at the foot of the bed.

"What happened?" I asked running my hands through her soft hair.

"I passed out, I'm gonna tell you something dont react." I looked at her questionably and nodded.

"Okay I wont." I wasn't sure that i would react or not but I still told her I wouldn't.

"I have cancer, stage 3 and it's getting worse everyday. I've been going to doctors and getting treatment but nothing has worked. Your the only one who knows. Not even Mark. They said I may have a month left.
" My chest all of a sudden felt heavy. Like a 600 pound man was sitting on it.

"How long have you had it? Why do you still have hair?" I threw questions at her not sure which I wanted answered first.

"I've had it for over a year. My hair is gone. This is a lace wig."

"What's gonna happen with Jacob?" I asked worriedly.

"That's what I need you for. Mark isn't stable to take care of my baby. He doesn't have his life together and I would hate for Jacob to be in the system." I knew what she was getting at but I already have two kids. One more is too much.

"I dont know about that Tasha. I could make sure he has a great home to go to and I'll even keep in touch..." I trailed off. She grabbed my hand and looked at me desperately.

"Please Lani, I really need you. Your his only hope....your my only hope. I cant have my baby with just anyone. He needs you." A tears left her eyes and fell down her cheeks.

I didn't know what to say, I was honestly lost for words. Another kid? Don't get me wrong I fucking love him with everything in me but taking him in for good. I don't know if can handle it.

"Fine...." I gave in. She smiled faintly and closed her eyes.

"Thank you so much. I'll get the papers to sign him over to your custody as soon as possible." I nodded rubbing the back of her hand and looking over at Jacob.

He was losing his mom.just as I lost mine. Same age different circumstances. I stayed with Tasha at the hospital for a while before getting Jacob and leaving.

She had given me her house keys so I could go and pick up some of his things but I didn't want to go alone.

Chris,

"Smile Legend!" I said trying to take a picture of him. I had took them to my house and we was in the backyard on the trampoline.

They actually was having fun on it. He finally stopped moving just long enough for me to snap the picture.

"Finally." I kissed his cheeks and grabbed Liberty who was gonna fall. I sat on the trampoline with them both and lightly bounced them.

My phone started ringing and a picture of Lani popped up.

"Wassup ma?" I said into the phone holding the twins so they wouldn't fall.

"Can you meet me at Tasha's house?" She asked me.

"Yea, you good?" I got off the trampoline with the twins and headed in my house.

"Yea just meet me." She ended the call and I started putting the twins things back on. I put them in the car and got in leaving. Five minutes later I pulled into Tasha's driveway and Lani got out her car with her little brother in her arms.

"What's going on?" I said carrying the twins inside once she unlocked the door.

"Tasha is in the hospital. She has cancer so....I'm getting custody of Jacob. He's staying with me." I looked at her for a second. I just saw Tasha she didn't seem sick to me.

"What you mean you getting custody?" I asked confused as hell.

"I'm getting custody, he's moving in with me. Basically I'm adopting him." She explained. She left the house for WORK and came back with a damn child. Not even a puppy.

I couldn't say shit though, if something happened to my sister I would be the first one to get my niece and nephews. So I understand.

"Okay, so why you have me meet you here?" I asked as she laid him on the couch.

"I need to get some of his things but I didn't wanna be here alone." She explained and we went into his room and started getting his things.

"I'm only taking clothes and some toys, leave the furniture he can get new stuff." Lani said and I did as told packing his toys up. After we finished that we got the twins back in my car and Jacob in her car going to her apartment.

When we got there she gave them all a bath while I brought all his stuff in the house.

"Where you want this?" I yelled out for her to hear me.

"In the twins room for now." She said and I did as told. After they had their baths she put the twins to bed then fed Jacob and laid him in her bed.

"I have some good news to tell you!" She smiled flipping through channels on her tv.

"I'm listening." She stopped on Moesha and turned to look at me with a smile on her face.

"So I met up with Stephanie and Khaled....about the song me and Jeremih did and he started saying how he wants me on another song...." She trailed off still smiling brightly from ear to ear.

"That's great ma!" I said leaning into kiss her but she moved her face.

"That's not all, he started talking about how he was trying to find another voice for the track. That's where you came in. I called you and had you sing so they could hear you, and they loved you! He wants to meet with us when he gets back in town." She was smiling so happily while I just looked at her.

I didn't wanna piggy back off her fame. It was her time to shine not mine.

"I can't take that baby." She frowned.

"Why not?" I shrugged pulling her on my lap.

"It's your time to shine baby. You came so far." She shook her head.

"No babe, I want you to take it. It'll mean so much to me!!" She pleaded. I thought about it and still didn't think I was gonna take it.

I'm in a contract with Ty's uncle so I would have to talk to him about it before agreeing anyway.

"Let me talk to my manager and I'll get back with you on my answer alright ma?" She nodded wrapping her arms around me.

"I love you." She mumbled laying her head on my chest. I kissed her forehead.

"I love you too ma."
