*Sunday Morning*

Raegan's POV

I slowly turned over in my bed when I saw it was 9 am. I leaped from my bed and rushed into my bathroom. While running out of my room, I bumped into my little brother Henry.

"Yo, watch where the f*ck you're going," he snapped.

I slapped the back of his head and continued towards the bathroom. I began to panic at how late I was considering that I lived forty-five minutes away from the airport. I stepped out of the shower examining the bruises on my face. I slowly ran my fingers over the purple figure that now danced with my face in perfect harmony. I winced at the thought of what happened last night.

The bathroom continued to clear of the fog as I went on with my hygiene routine. I combed my hair in front of my cheek to hide the figure on my left cheek. Thank you, for doing this to me again. Once I was done, I walked out of the bathroom to see Henry at the door with the nastiest scowl.

"Move, Hen," I sighed.

"Why do you keep letting him do that to you, Rae? You should let me do it to him so he will know how it feels to get beat on," he frowned.

"It's complicated, Henry. Promise me that while I'm gone you'll be good. You know how Mom and Dad are when you act up," I ran my hands through his hair.

"Okay, Rae stop messing with my hair," he huffed.

"Get a haircut," I yelled while entering my room.

I got dressed in a hurry and ran to my car. Luckily, I packed my car for the morning last night. I said my goodbyes to Henry before speeding down the busy streets of New York.

I pulled up to the airport and quickly made my way through the crowd. I searched for my gate number and this unknown person I was supposed to meet. I stopped at the gate entrance and glanced at the clock, 9:56 am. I huffed the moment I realized the person I was to meet was late. I hate when people are late.

I looked up at a man standing to my right. I examined his face as he looked off into the crowded lobby of the airport. He looked so familiar but his freckles threw off my concentration. He tapped his foot lightly against the carpet while rubbing his slim arm. I wondered who he was waiting for and thought to start a conversation with him. His strong stature intrigued me so, that I licked my lips at the thought of hearing his voice.

"Are you waiting for someone," I asked with a smile.

He nodded lightly and kept his eyes glued on the floor. I touched his arm and he quickly stepped away. I licked the corner of my lip and swallowed the air building in my throat.

"Sorry, I just wanted to get your attention," I whispered, "Who are you looking for?"

He mumbled something inaudible; therefore, I stepped closer to hear him.

"Pardon me," I questioned.

"A girl from my school," he replied.

I scrunched my eyebrows together as the confusion hit my body.

"Your girlfriend," I teased.

"No," he huffed.

"Well who," I snared.

He stayed silent for the remainder of the hour. I was more frustrated with the fact that he wouldn't look at me.

"Where are you going," I asked.

"Convention in Miami," he mumbled.

"Wait," I paused. I slowly stepped in front of him to reveal his face. His eyes slowly dropped down to my feet and he sighed to himself.
