Raegan's POV

I watched as Malcolm's face flashed across the screen. "Oh my God," flew from my lips as the news anchor continued to review Malcolm's "breaking news." I was beyond being upset. My mind was racing and Michael began yelling through the phone.

"What, Michael?" I remarked through my gritted teeth.

"I thought you were gone, my bad, damn." He snapped back. "Look, I need to take care of my child. Call me back when you've calmed down, okay?" he said calmly.

"Okay, Michael."

"I love you, Raegan."

"I know, Michael. Goodnight."

I hung up because I knew where that conversation was going. I sat down in the waiting room and thought it was time to tell Henry's girlfriend about what happened tonight. I let the phone ring and held my breath before her groggy voice danced through the line.

"Hello?" she answered sweetly.

"Hey, Hayden. How are you?"

"Raegan it's like 1 a.m. What's going on?" she giggled. I felt bad that she was giggling because I was about to take that happiness away from her.

"Um, yeah. Hayden, sweetheart..." I trailed off to gather my recalcitrant thoughts.

"Henry has been shot. Malcolm shot him and...and my boyfriend."

"Boyfriend? I thought Malcolm was your boyfriend."

"Not anymore" I snapped. Hayden let the information settle in and she soon began to cry. I told her to meet me at the hospital to await the news for Chris's and Henry's condition.

When Hayden arrived, she continued to cry until the doctor came out to us.

"Family of Henry Shaw and Christopher Brown?" Hayden and I stood quickly once he finished Chris's name.

"Hello, my name is Dr. McClanahan and I was the surgeon for both Chris and Henry. Okay, Henry is stable. The bullet just missed a major artery. We're still working on Christopher. His bullet went pretty deep and considering that he was unconscious when he got here says that we don't have much time left to save him. Henry will be in room B309 in about twenty minutes. You can wait for me to come back out when we have an update for Christopher."

I nodded at his statement and sat down when he walked away.

Henry was okay, but Chris wasn't. Henry was okay, but Chris wasn't. My mind was blank as I moved through the hall to see my brother. I touched his arm and his eyes weakly grazed upon my body.

"Hey, Rae."

"Shh, don't talk Hen. Hayden is here. Wanna see her?" I asked while tears flowed down my face. Henry nodded slowly and Hayden stepped around me. I watched them embrace for a while before the doctor wheeled Chris in on the hospital bed. I stared at him while he shivered on the bed. I stood and stared as Henry cried and Hayden wiped her own. I turned back to Chris as he shut his eyes and I kissed his forehead. I let my hand caress his hair before the corners of his lips curled into a smile. I smiled back to him before I noticed a figure in the door.

"Hi. Are you looking for someone?" I asked kindly.

"Yeah. Chris. Uh, Christopher Brown" he stuttered.

Chris opened his eyes and looked at his visitor. I sat down as the guy took off his hat. Chris struggled to lift his body off the bed.

"Don't move Duke. You know someone just popped a cap in your a**" he chuckled.
