Chris's POV
I sat at the table the next morning with Carmen in my lap. I caressed her thighs as she ate her fruit. She was so beautiful in the morning. Her hair fell in the right places, even though it was mess. My thoughts broke when Raegan walked in. She looked at me and then sat down.
"I made food," Carmen spoke, "You can have some if you'd like."
Raegan kindly started preparing her plate. I stared at her, admiring her beauty in front of me. Her chocolate skin was hypnotizing. I couldn't stop myself.
"Chris!" Carmen snapped.
"Huh?" I looked at her. She had a look of disgust on her face. I cleared my throat and put her in my place, going to the bathroom. Of course, she followed me.
"Chris, why were you staring at her like that?" she pressed.
"I'm sorry, baby." I gripped her waist and stared down at her avoiding her eyes. I wasn't sorry though. I couldn't really figure out what I was feeling. She leaned up and kissed my chin. I sighed in relief of the the fact that she didn't press the issue anymore.
I watched her walk away from me quietly down the hall. I rubbed my face and I felt the stress sink in.
What am I going to do?
Raegan's POV
"I'm sorry, baby" I heard him utter. I gagged as a result. I needed to get on my feet so I could get away from the both of them. I stood from the table and thanked Carmen for the breakfast she prepared for me. I was heading back to my room when Chris walked out of the bathroom. He wasn't paying attention and ran right into me.
"Excuse me," I mumbled. I could smell his familiar aftershave. I inhaled slowly, taking in every ounce of him. I could feel him staring down at me.
"I'm sorry," he whispered under his breath. I looked up at him and reluctantly, my hands were on his bare chest. He was beginning to bite his lip and I pulled away as I heard Carmen coming. I walked back into his bedroom and sighed out.
Chris's POV
Carmen's hand came in contact with my face as she saw Raegan walking away from me. I grabbed her hand tightly and scowled at her.
"What are you doing?" I whispered trying not to wake her baby.
"What am I doing? What are you doing!?"
"Carmen, baby, I told you nothing is going on. I just accidentally bumped into her when I was coming out of the bathroom." I pressed, hoping she would forget this.
She kissed her teeth and walked away from me. I walked into my room and sighed as I saw Raegan lying on the bed. I know she was exhausted after all the stuff she had been through this past week. I couldn't help but want to hold her and tell it would all be okay. I knew what it was like to be the last one left of a family, to see someone die before my eyes.
I slipped my clothes on and rubbed her side.
"You okay?"
"I'm fine," she spoke.
"You sure?"
"Yeah. You should go before Carmen catches you again."
I scoffed at her statement. "She went to the store, actually. It's just us here."
She sat up and looked at me. I was now sitting in the chair staring at her deeply, like I was when she was at the table.
Tension was rising, I felt something in me tuning like a record player. It was accelerating my heart. She stared at me with the same intensity. I felt myself beginning to bite my lip. I could feel myself undressing her with my eyes. I couldn't help it. She was beautiful, and I knew deep down that I loved her. No matter what Raegan did to me, no matter what she said, I knew I loved her. The lust in me was growing. She could sense it.
