Raegan's POV

I woke up the next morning and didn't feel Chris's body next to mine. I rose from the bed and rub the puffiness from my eyes until I could see clearly. I opened the blinds to the room and let in the morning rays before heading to the bathroom. My hygiene routine consisted of hair and teeth brushing face washing, and clothes fondling. Once I was finished, I gradually made my way down the stairs to the kitchen. I began to make breakfast before walking off from the stove. I could hear light humming coming from my basement so I opened the door slowly. As my mind flew around the room, I shut the door back and grabbed a knife from the kitchen drawer. I was not about to die today. I opened the door again and slowly made my way down the stairs with the knife firmly gripped in my palm. The sun's rays hit the dust in the basement as I crept through it silently. The humming stopped and my heart began to beat out of my chest. I turned the corner of the room and noticed Chris's body hunched over in the corner. His back moved up and down quickly and I set the knife down.

"Chris," I called out to him.

He turned around and stared at me. His eyes were no longer the shade of gray-blue-green they had been before. They were black and they shifted back and forth against my figure.

"What do you want?" he questioned me.

His voice wasn't the same. It was dark and haunting. I shuddered in my skin and backed away slowly. I reached down reluctantly to pick up the knife I sat down moments before. His body jumped up against mine and grabbed my wrist. Before I could speak, I was against the wall. His breath shot against my neck as he panted. I stood still before his figure and tears slowly rolled down my cheeks.

"Chris," I whispered through my tears, "please, no."

The grip on my wrist loosened slightly before he gripped me up again. That was when he spoke.

"I was there for you and you shut me away. You shut me away and took him back. You took him back and you were all I had. That's pathetic! You're pathetic!"

Small specks of his spit hit my face as I trembled under him. His voice boomed through the room as I waited for him to release me.

"Speak!" he shouted.

I yelped loudly before sobbing.

"Christopher, please stop! I didn't do anything! I swear to you!"

His eyes began to fade as his eye color was restored. He cleared his throat and let me go. I fell to the ground. I began to pant as he backed away from me. His hands gripped and pulled at his hair. "No, no, no," he repeated over and over. Rather than speaking to me, it was like he was speaking to himself.

I walked towards him slowly and grabbed his hands.

"Christopher? What was that? Who was that?"

He snatched his hands away and grabbed his bag from the floor. His body went past me so fast that my bathrobe flew with his figure. I rubbed my face and went back up to the kitchen and finished making breakfast when Henry walked through the door.

"Hey, Rae" he smiled.

"Hey, Hen. How are you? I haven't seen you in forever it seems," I chuckled.

"I'm good. Hey, I saw Chris running down the street. What happened?" he questioned. I simply shrugged at him and he let it go. I walked up to him and ran my fingers through his now auburn curls. He chuckled lightly and swatted at my hand.

"Come on, Raegan. None of that." he laughed loudly. His laughing died down a little too quickly for my liking so I turned to look at him.

"What is it?" I spoke.

"What the fuck is that on your wrist Raegan?" he barked loudly.

I ran my fingers through my hair as he got up and ran out of the house.

He was going after Chris...

Chris's POV

I hadn't done that in a long time. The days my anger gets a hold of me; I change into the monster I hated to be. I ran down the street until I got to my old neighborhood. I walked down the street slowly and made my way up the street I used to live on. I looked around and remember the good times I had while living in this part of town. I could smell Mijo's dad grilling in the front yard. Yes, the front yard, Mijo's dad was always a little hood but you couldn't help but love him. I remember the girl named Lily that would come and ask for my little sister every day after school. I smiled when I saw my brother and sister chasing each other in the yard. My smile faded as I realized the vision I had was figment of my imagination.

I walked towards the house that I called my home. It was still blackened from the flame that devoured it years ago. I walked to the house and let my hands slide across the front door before I kicked it in. I slipped the bandana tied around my neck about my mouth to protect myself from the fumes in the house.

The furniture we had was still there and I stared at it as I ran my hand against the banister our television used to sit on. I stepped and heard a crunch. I looked down to see our family picture on the ground. I picked it up and smiled through the tears that formed in my eyes. I let my fingers brush against the picture before I stuck it in my pocket. I slowly walked upstairs to ensure that I didn't fall through the burnt wood. My room was exactly how I remembered except for the now blackened walls. I fumbled through the rubbish to find a box I kept under the bed. I shoved it into my bag before wandering into my parents' old room. I smiled as my father's scent still circulated in the room. I wanted to go into my brother and sister's rooms but the floors collapsed in there.

I made my way back downstairs before I slipped on something. I stumbled but caught my balance. I looked down at the floor and scrunched my eyebrows together. I picked up the small piece in my hand before realizing it was a tooth. I threw it down and stumbled back while my eyes watered.

"No, no, no," I chanted while throwing the plywood off of the floor. My mother's wedding ring laid on the floor next to my father's wedding band. I choked on my tears and rubbed my face.

"No, God why!? No!" I hollered through the house. It hit me...
