Clarke

Raven was holding onto a rifle. I looked up at the brunette in amazement. Lexa did the same.

"Raven, what the hell?" I asked incredulously, pushing Lexa's sister's unconscious form off of me. Lexa grabbed onto my arm and helped me up. Once I was standing, she gripped onto it, unable to not touch me. I relaxed at her comforting, yet possessive touch.

Raven shrugged. "You got to bring back blankets, I brought back a gun."

"You brought a gun to Polis? Where has it been?" I asked, my voice raising. Octavia and Lincoln stood behind us with the Nightbloods. The Nightbloods were watching with awkward smiles.

"In my closet."

"Did you have it this whole time? Why did you use a sword?"

Raven rolled her eyes. "I was cleaning it when the assholes came into my room. They took it and hid it. I saw him put it there." Raven said, pointing to a cranny in the wall. "He didn't hide it very well."

"Again, why didn't you use the gun?"

Raven shrugged. "Thought it might be fun to use a sword. My time to shine, you know?"

"You picked a shitty time to shine." I said. I heard Lexa laugh beside me. "And besides, it was all Lexa."

I patted her cheek and she blushed. She turned to me and smiled softly at the compliment, but I could see the emotions stirring in her eyes. Like usual, her mask was on in the face of danger.

Raven scoffed. "She might've started it, but I did well for a Sky girl. Didn't I?"

Lexa nodded. "I have to agree. You were impressive."

Raven beamed. "I have the Commander's approval, Clarke! She thinks I'm awesome! That is like...the highest honor."

I smiled and looked back to Lexa. We shared an amused look.

Easley stepped forward. "Hate to break up the party, but we're a little tired. Fighting for your lives does that to you."

Lexa's face fell. She swallowed and nodded. I was saddened by the thought of her feeling guilt over this. She thought that the reason the Nightbloods having to fight for their lives was because of her. She was supposed to protect them like their mother, and she hadn't.

"I will escort you to your room." She murmured. I didn't want her walking from their room to ours alone.

"I'm coming with you." I said.

"No, Clarke. You and your friends retire to your rooms." She said.

I grabbed onto her arm. "I'm coming with you."

Lexa sighed. "Okay."

"Wait—what about the evil twin?" Raven asked, looking at the unconscious Luna.

Lexa bit her lip, staring at her sister. I couldn't imagine what she was thinking—the most logical thing to do would be to kill her. She didn't want to risk another attack, and if Luna lived she would learn from her mistakes. The next attack would be much more successful in Luna's eyes.

But Luna was her sister. She still saw the good in her, even when no one else could. I could see that part of her didn't want to let the only family she had left go. She wanted to make the deaths of her people and her houmon up to her sister. She wanted a relationship.

"She's not her twin." Octavia corrected Raven.

"Oh." Raven said. "That clears some things up because you guys look nothing alike."
