Clarke

Panic surged through me as Lexa calmly told me about her wound. I worried that something like this would happen and tried to reassure myself that it wouldn't. Lexa said that it seemed fine, but she often withheld the truth in situations like this.

I was just about to respond when the large door loudly squealed open. Bellamy walked in, his face full of self-righteousness. I could see Raven and Kane behind him. They were worried, and obviously wanted to intervene, but Bellamy probably wouldn't allow it.

"Bellamy." I said, shocked.

"What are you doing?" He asked, glancing at the walkie.

"I...I..." I stumbled for an excuse. "I'm talking to Lexa."

"Lexa?" Bellamy asked. His eyes were filled with disdain. He had never trusted Lexa, and there was no chance he could even tolerate being around her after Mount Weather.

"Yes." I said. I hoped he would drop it. I hoped he wouldn't have to make me explain. But I knew Bellamy, or at least, I thought I did. He would demand answers.

"Why?"

"Because she wanted to know if I made it back safely." I said. That seemed like a reasonable enough excuse. And it wasn't a complete lie.

"Oh she did, did she?"

"Yep."

"And why's that?"

"Because I'm an Ambassador and she cares about the safety of all her ambassadors." I said.

"C'mon Clarke. Stop lying to me." Bellamy said.

"That's the truth. I don't know what else you want me to say." I said, standing up and trying to head towards the door. Bellamy moved his body in front of it and looked down at me.

"Why are you here Clarke?"

"I thought it was time I come home for a visit with no ulterior motive. Just seeing my mom, my best girl friends and my best boy friends." I said, nudging him on the shoulder.

He didn't budge. His mouth stayed frozen. I was hoping that comment would lighten up the mood a little, but obviously not.

"Pike won't be happy. He hates Lexa, and anyone associated with her."

"Yep, I'm well informed."

"So keep the Lexa talk to a minimum around him."

"Wasn't planning on talking about her to anyone, much less Pike."

Bellamy sized me up and nodded, turning to the door. It seemed as if Bellamy didn't want to hear about Lexa, not Pike.

Before he left, he turned and glared at me.

"I don't know what you did in Polis, but I'll find out."

Raven and I sat in her room. She was toying around on a computer, one that was checked multiple times a day for Pike's interference.

"So...what did happen in Polis?" She asked, continuing to stare at the screen.

I sighed and sat up. Nobody would understand. If anything, Octavia would understand the most. She was a Sky Girl who fell in love with a Grounder, same as me. But Raven was a close second.

"I forgave Lexa." I said. "I would've done the same in that situation. After a few weeks, I just let go of that hatred towards her."

"And then you started to love her again?" Raven questioned, peering over at me from where she sat.

I hesitated. Was love the right word?

"I...yeah. Sorta." I said.

"Sorta?"

"Yeah. I know that I started to feel what I felt before Mount Weather. This maybe went a little further. But I don't know if love is really it. It could be, I guess."

"Alright, alright. Don't hurt yourself, Princess. We don't have to talk about that."

I breathed in a sigh of relief. It felt weird talking about Lexa with people from the Ark. It was a different world at Polis. It was Lexa and I's world that was untouched by Arkadians. At least until now.

"So how'd you figure out how to jam the walkies? That doesn't seem easy." I asked.

Raven looked hurt. "Clarke I learned how to do that when I was seven. This is boring for me."

"Okay. Okay. Didn't mean to offend." I said jokingly.

Raven typed quickly before breaking the silence.

"Is Polis awesome?"

I nodded. "It's pretty cool. Very different from TonDC. Lexa's tower is so tall. I've never seen anything like it. I've tried to find some books in her room about geography and such to figure out what city Polis used to be, but there's nothing."

Raven looked at me and smirked.

"What?"

"Nothing."

"No, what?"

Raven sighed. "It just seemed odd that you'd mention Lexa twice when you didn't want to talk about her two minutes ago."

I groaned and shook my head.

"You're impossible."

"I get that a lot."

I lied down and stared at the ceiling. In a few days, Lincoln and Octavia were going to kill Pike. Then they were going to leave, and have to live with that guilt forever. And somehow, Raven and I were sitting around like stereotypical teenage girls talking about our love lives.

"We can't let them kill Pike."

"They have to." Raven mumbled distractedly.

"No. There's always another way. We just haven't found it yet."

"Clarke we don't have time to think of a new plan."

An idea came to mind. I sat up, smiling. "I already have one."

We'll see how Clarke's new plan is going to work out.
