Chapter 10

~Anna's POV~

Monday to wednesday was the same schedule, thursdays and fridays were different. I was looking forward to PE in second period. Monday's PE did not affect me one bit, instead, I felt as if I could really participate without having to worry about anything.

"Sis I know what you are thinking." Eric broke my chain of thoughts as we were walking to school. Itachi and Sasuke were side by side.

"Hmm?"

"Just because you don't feel any weakness, doesn't mean you should keep rebelling." I sighed.

"You tell that to the robot there. To not provoke me." I replied, pointing to Itachi, who seemed to be listening intently.

"If you don't tell me why, I cannot obey."

"Sis has cardiomy-" Eric started answering, out of plain concern of course, but I didn't want anybody knowing, so I kicked his shin to quieten him. "Ow! Sis!"

"Didn't I tell you not to tell people?" I scolded.

"Cardiomyopathy?" Grizzly inquired. I stiffened but recovered soon enough and quickened my pace to the school gates.

Great! Now he knows!! Urghhh!!! Now he is going to start pitying me! Here ends the rivalry!

I quickly ascended the stairs and went to class, threw my bag on the desk and exited the room. There was still half an hour till class and I was not going to spend that avoiding Itachi's possible questions about my problems. Hn, if he cared enough to ask that is.

"Hey Anna~" I heard Konan sing and turned to my friend. She looked at me oddly. "What happened?"

"Eric told him." It was great to have a deep bond with Konan, because she understood me almost immediately.

"Details please." She demanded as we walked to the stairs and sat down on one side. I told her what happened and she patted my back. "Look on the bright side though, he might be extremely guilty now for making you run so much."

"Nothing bad happened so he should be wise enough to not trouble himself over such petty emotions."

"Damn you are angry." I smiled.

"Of course I am. Now he won't even challenge me to the simplest things and won't accept any when I do. And PE today..."

"Don't get sad just thinking about it. You don't know what will happen. Come on, what will happen will happen and..?" She invited me to continue.

"And it will be for the best, whether it be out of our understanding." I finished.

"Exactly."

"Yo Itachi~" I glomped the Uchiha, to gain his attention so I could challenge him during PE. Today sensei told us we could do anything. Konan went with the other girls to play badminton.

"Weren't you angry with me?" He asked, deadpanned.

"No way dude! Remember I punched you twice? Righttt?" He nodded. "That was revenge! And once I have taken my revenge, its ok~ No hard feeling buddy!" I playfully slapped his back.

"Are you high or something?" I completely ignored him.

"Speaking of buddies, you up for a challenge? Eh rival?" He looked at me like I was mad or something.

"Even when you have a weak heart?" Itachi asked, with a straight face, yet a strict tone. My smile was gone. I knew this would happen.

"Since when do you care? Its my problem, leave it be with me."

"Since you are challenging me to who knows what absurdity, I felt I should bring it up."

"Absurdity?! Dude! Wasn't it 'absurd' when you angered me enough to race?!" How dare he look down on me just because of my weakness?! He didn't say anything but looked a little guilty. Teeeeeeny bit. "Ugh forget it! I don't even know why I bother with you." I turned to leave but felt I should take all my anger out. "And just so you know, if I do end up in a hospital, its going to be your fault."

All the time left till next class, I waited in a corner, fuming and watching other people play and have fun. Calling my challenges absurd wouldn't have hurt before, but it did now.

I am just...trying to become my old self again.... That is not...absurd.

After PE was Calligraphy with Anko sensei, then English with Iruka sensei. They were both pretty chill teachers. In recess, I immediately exited the class to go to the cafeteria. Other followed and got a table.

I sat down beside Konan and one by one the guys started appearing, looking worn out from classes. I was so hungry that even after two complete breads, I had enough space for a big juice.

"You sure eat a lot, hmm." Deidara commented. I grinned.

"Well you got to eat when you are 'weak'." I spat that last word, hinting it at a certain someone. Konan laughed silently, knowing whom it was aimed at.

Five minutes till recess was over and the group started returning to their classes. I tailed behind with Konan, with Itachi just a few steps ahead. It was good that Konan was with me because one moment I am walking and the next, I am taking support from a wall, one of my hands on my mouth to stop the nausea from turning into vomit and the other clutching my heart.

"Anna, sit down!" She immediately had me slide down to the floor and passed me my medicine. "Here, this should stop the pain-"

"What happened to her?" I glared through my literally aching heart at the cause of this mess. Some nerve he has asking that. Both of us ladies, ignored the Uchiha and I took the medicine from my friend, swallowing it down then waiting for it act.

Through my laboured short breaths, I stole a glance at first Konan who was worried but composed at the same time, and Itachi who was plain worried and guilty. Heck did it show on his face.

The bell rang and I was no where near able to stand up so I told Konan and Itachi to go to class but none budged. I closed my eyes and let my heart calm down. It took a while longer than imagined but once my heartbeat was stable, I asked Konan to help me stand.

My legs were trembling. Not the normal kind. It felt as though something was broken because certain spots were itching.

Not once since my problem started had I feared for what might it do to me if I disobey any rules or any limits. Now, I was thinking what will happen and regretted ever letting Itachi get to me. Ugh!!!

"Thanks." I thanked my friend when I let go of her support even though the trembling hadn't stopped. "And thank you for being my potential murderer." I spat, to Itachi and walked to class.

Asuma sensei was not happy for our lateness but when I took all the blame, he let the other two go and gave me a warning card before continuing on with the lecture. Japanese I was interesting as usual, though my mind was elsewhere.

"Anna, should I go with you?" Konan asked, worry flashing in her eyes.

"No need, I am meeting Eric at the gates. You have club right?" She nodded. "Don't worry about me. Enjoy club."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes lady friend~" She seemed reluctant but gave in eventually.

I went to the lockers and changed shoes, then without looking elsewhere, I started on the road home. I lied about meeting Eric, he had club too.

"I didn't know you could lie that well." I sighed, annoyed, knowing who the speaker was.
