~Konan's POV~
The sooner I was told what had went down, I dropped everything for my best friend. Normally I would have been angry but this was on a much larger scale. Anna's brother, Timothy told me everything.
For somebody who was in an explosion and had drowned, Anna sustained not many injuries. Just a dislocated shoulder, a light sprain in the neck and a few bruises. She wasn't unconscious even. It was a bit strange the doctors thought. For somebody having medical history of attacks from stress and anxiety, Anna sure was keeping it calm.
She was allowed to go home after three days at the hospital but recommended rest for a week or until she felt up to school. So since she was missing a lot on school, we all took one subject each and would drop our notes at her house, daily. She didn't reject us. That was also worrisome.
She was in almost perfect shape, she didn't say no to our help but she wasn't speaking. Just stayed in her room, staring out the window or just in the distance, anywhere. She ate and slept and took her medicines but never attempted at conversation or even replied with proper words. Just a nod here, a shake of head there.
It was like she hadn't completely accepted what had happened.
Another important thing was that Itachi was nowhere to be found. He was always eager to help her and we all knew for a fact that he absolutely loved Anna, so it was again a strange thing that he wasn't here. The first few days, when Anna was in the hospital, he just visited once, to talk to Timothy about something and then he was gone. Sure he was at school but after that, nobody could get a hold of him. Where he went, what he did, nobody knew. We tried asking Sasuke about it but he too didn't know. Just said that Itachi was too stressed these days.

"Anna how you feeling?" Amalie asked when she was braiding Anna's hair so they won't go in her eyes. One of her arms was in a sling because of the shoulder, and the other still had light bruising so it was difficult for her to move it.
"Ok...ay.." Amalie and I shared a look and sighed. She wasn't okay. Since Anna wasn't looking, I gestured Amalie to meet me outside.
"Any news on Itachi?" She asked.
"No. What are we going to do? She isn't getting any better. Its been five days!"
"Is he avoiding her? Doesn't it feel like that?"
"It does. Come on." And I opened the door to go back inside. I had just touched the knob when I heard shattering noises.
I quickly opened the door and saw Anna retreat her fist from the now-broken dresser mirror. One of the shards was in her hand and she was crunching it there, her blood dropping on the floor, followed by the girl herself sagging into the floor and throwing the pieces away, tears welling up in her eyes. We were both speechless.
"I am sorry. I am so so sorry." She kept repeating. Over and over and over and over again, crying all the while. As much as the scene was scary to watch, it let us know that all was now well.
We stayed with Anna the rest of the day and she kept apologising. Not only to us, to her brothers, to everybody in the group, even went to next door to say sorry to Sasuke. One person was still missing from her list though.
~Anna's POV~
"Thank you." I thanked my brother for picking up my phone from where I had thrown it and keeping it safe till now.
"If I had returned it earlier, you'd have broken it as well." Tim laughed.
"Yes..." I agreed, my eyes downcast.
"I made a little too much soup. You mind taking it to the Uchiha's? I'd have gone myself but got my hands full right now." He waved his hands showing me how full they were with nothing. I tried smiling.
"Okay..."
"Go get changed. I will put it in a decent bowl." I nodded and went upstairs to my room and with much difficulty, put on a half sleeve green button-up shirt and black pants.
I took the bowl off the counter and exited the house. Mikoto-san was more than happy to see me in one piece. How she found out about the happenings of a week earlier, I have no idea. She insisted that I stay so I stopped for some twenty minutes and talked with her.
There was some noise upstairs and Mikoto-san started all of a sudden. She took my hands and led me in the back yard.
"Have you seen these beautiful flowers?" I looked at the ones she was pointing it. They were vinka rosea.
"Yes they are quite beautiful."
"Oh I forgot to water them today! Wait here, I will get the water." She left hurriedly.
I winced. My leg was hurt bad from the fall and also when it got stretched because of that big damned iron ball, so I now have to rest it after some time. I can't stand for long. I took the support from the pillar and sat on the porch, my feet dangling off the edge.
I was massaging the muscles to soothe the stinging when I noticed a pair of feet beside me. I looked up at the person and it was Itachi, drying his hair in a towel. It was shielding his eyes so maybe he hadn't seen me yet. I didn't want to confront him just yet so I tried to get up quietly but damn my legggggg!
"Argh!" I let out the sound, involuntarily. He noticed immediately. I looked away and slowly started scooting. "I will just...go...away..."
I turned my back on him and tried speeding away but my limb wasn't done resting and so it protested and I fell on my knee in pain.
"Holy fucking shit you damned fucking appendage!" I cursed under my breath. Itachi must have heard it because he started laughing. I glared at him and he stopped.
"Good to know you are back." He handed me a hand to help me sit properly. I accepted it. I was done denying everything.
"Y..yeah..." He sat beside me and rubbed his neck with the towel and I saw his hands. "What did you do?" i took them in my hands and rubbed my thumbs over the knuckles.
"I punched a few things."
"What kind of things? The skin is in a pretty bad shape you idiot!" He yanked his hands away from me.
"I know." He looked to the other side.
"If you know then tend to them! You are always scolding me about it but look at yourself-" He suddenly looked at me in the eye.
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why do you care so much about what happens to me?" I tried avoiding it but he flipped the towel behind my head and grabbed both ends to keep my face closer to him and to keep the eye contact maintained. "Why?"
I closed my eyes angrily and sighed. He wanted an answer. I will give him his answer.
"Because, I," I inched my face closer and continued, "love," still getting closer, I finished, "you," then headbutted him for hurting himself to make me say this, "you dumbass!"
I must have hit him hard because he fell on his back and since I jerked my head forward with much force, I fell on him.
"Control your weight dammit!" I cursed, again because my slinged arm got squeezed in between and it hurt like hell. "My arm...." I sat up and rubbed the sling.
I was hugged all of a sudden. "I am so happy that you are ok." I patted Itachi's back with my good arm.
"There there." I took a breath and let him go. I looked him the eye this time.
"Is something bothering you?" Itachi asked concerned.
"You know what," I got on my knees since he was still tall sitting, "lets skip the first date."
